Unhappy

I love Christine’s books but this one left me flat. It was difficult to stay with the book as the narrator was awful. Could not distinguish the characters and his voice lacked energy.

I have really mixed feelings about this one

I’ve never given a Feehan book less than a 5, and I’ve read & or listened to everyone and many more than once. There were many factors playing out here, James McAdams is a very good narrator, however, since the last few books in the series were done by someone else he should have at least listened to part of one to get the names correctly, most all the characters were pronounced so differently you didn’t know who he was talking about until you heard their spouses name, plus he reads very slow and Jim read fast. So confusing. Then the story, I love that Ms Feehan researches so much and paints a picture with her words but I think it backfired in this one. I love lots of hot sex and even those with bdsm, however, the art of Japanese rope tying just kept going and going. I hate to say but it got boring, don’t think there was too much sex as one reviewer thought I just think the scening and teasing play took way to much of the book and she lost the plot. I do think all things considered, this is one better read than listened to.

Fantastic Book!

Love this book! Christine Feehan has done it again, given us complex characters with multidimensional personalities. She takes us inside and shows what drives them. James McAdams transports us into their world with his super descriptive narration so we experience everything right along with them. I very highly recommend this book.

good listen

I liked the narrator. The plot was a little too much at times - male dominants was over the top. but all in all still a great listen

different feel

Wow, what can I say about this addition to the Leopard series? Well first, I can say that I enjoyed the story. I chose to do my first reading of the book via audio so that will have a great influence on my review. The story has a much slower pace to it than previous books and it was not as violent as others have been. Since a new narrator, James McAdams, was chosen for this book, I kind of felt it was written just for him to narrate as I could not see Jim Frangione narrating this one, hence my reference to the slower pace. Hopefully Jim Frangione will return for the next book.

The book tells the story of Sevastyan Amurov, Amur leopard shifter and bodyguard to his cousin Mitya Amurov. When Flambe Carver shows up on his doorstep late for their appointment, he senses something is very wrong. Flambe reluctantly tells him what has happened and that she was escaping the clutches of a stalker who ran her of the road. Sevastyan recognizes her as a shifter also and to his surprise one on the verge of having her leopard about to make its first appearance. The attraction between them is almost instant. Sevastyan takes Flambe under his protection. And as their connection grows, with flames of desire sparking between them, will it burst into an inferno that will consume them both?

Good addition to the series

This book is really good. The slow build up to the forever relationship is really good. The 2 issues I have are Flambe has a skewed idea of relationships. The fact she works with men everyday doesn't seem to help her personality. The narrator was ok but personally Jim Frangione is way better.

OMG!

This is definitely a Christine Feehan novel.
I love the poetry that her son contributed to the book.
Very talented family.
The characters are great. I am going to read the series again starting January 1, 2021.
Thanks Christine
