Publisher's summary

What if everything you'd fought for was a lie?

Just when it seemed I'd overcome the biggest obstacles my fae mates and I could face, I find myself in the hands of their greatest enemies. Enemies who have more power than we ever imagined.

Enemies who hold so much more sway over my life than I want to believe.

I have to escape, and not just to warn the men I love and defend the home I've made with them. The longer I remain, the more these villains can use me to destroy everything I care about.

If I fail now, the entire faerie world will crumble. I don't know if I can do it alone - but where will I find an ally among the cruelest of the fae?

Lies of Murk is the seventh book in Bound to the Fae, a new paranormal romance series featuring possessive shifters, dangerous fae politics, and a wounded heroine finding her strength.

Loving this Series

This one was so good! Of course I need the next one right this very minute! I am very curious about Murdoc. I wonder how he will come into the story in the next book. I loved the narrators. They made the story come alive!

I need the next one ASAP!

So I am weird in that once I start a series in audio I have to finish that series in audio. This series is one of those series. I know the ebook is out and that I can read the next book at any point, but I have gotten so used to the narrators that I have to have them read it to me. This book kept me entertained on a really long car ride and I am most appreciative of that. I cannot wait to see what happens next in the series.

And the tale grows even more twisted

Talia can't catch a break. Just as she finally gets to publicly claim her three summer fae men, with the full approval of her winter fae soul-twined mate, she gets snatched by the Murk and taken from the Mists back to the human world. There, she finally learns exactly where she came from and she is left reeling from the knowledge. With her mate-bond to Corwin suppressed, she has only a tenuous connection to Whitt through his true name to call upon. Unfortunately, she is too far away to get more than a broken, disjointed message through before the pain in her head forces her to break off the communication. She has one Murk male that at least treats her like a person. She doesn't trust Madoc, but she doesn't think he will abuse her like the Murk king does. Though King Orion sometimes treats her like a pet, he is a cruel, twisted male who is set on destroying the summer and winter fae and taking over the Mists. She has to escape and get back to her men to warn them, but how? With only her bronze bracelet and her knowledge of a few true names, she has her work cut out for her.

Stay tuned. Much more to come. I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.

lies of murk

This book takes a definite twist that I didn't see coming at all. We learn some information about Talia's past that is quite interesting and will have to see how it all plays out with everything else that is going on.
This is action packed from beginning to end. The narrators are amazing as always and draw you.

Surprised, maybe my fav of the series!

I was nervous about starting essentially the "Murk trilogy" in this 9 book series but I didnt have anything to be worried about. I thought this book got back on track with all the action and plot progression. I thought it was fabulous and I am dying for the next book in the series to be released on audio so I can know what happens next. I was happy there wasn't a cliffhanger in this one, but I want to know how things are being set up for this big showdown/war between the Murk and the Summer and Winter fae.

In book 7 we get to learn how Talia became who she is today and get to see the perspective of the Murk, who have been deprecated throughout the series so far. They are the vermin of the fae world and treated as 2nd class citizens basically. Now they haven't helped their cause with the havoc they have been wreaking, but I can totally see why they are going after the summer and winter realms after how their people have been treated and slaughtered for year. I did like seeing a new character that I think will be part of Talia's harem. but I can't confirm until I think book 8. I liked seeing his progression, I wish we had gotten a little more POV from him, but maybe that will be in books 8 and 9, we shall see! The Murk leader is a pretty good bad guy, the author does a great job painting the picture; he exuded brutality and a selfishness for power and revenge (while treating his subjects like feral animals sometimes). That's all I will say since I don't want to give things away. I loved the ending and can't wait to see what happens next.

I really hope some of the snooty fae leaders form the 2 realms are knocked down a peg and finally realize they have to work together or they all will be eliminated. I did like the big action sequence towards the end, finally some karmic justice!

Favorite series of the year!

This series has been my favorite new read of the year! I know I'll be coming back for re-reads because I always get sucked right in and don't want to leave. It's so rare for a romance series to be this long and still hold my attention so well, but there is always something new to uncover and discover in this world!

Again I'll give a 4-star to the female and 5-star to the male narrators.
