About this listen

Instant Number One New York Times Best Seller

Instant USA Today Best Seller

The long-anticipated sequel to Sister Souljah’s million copy New York Times best seller The Coldest Winter Ever.

Winter Santiaga hit time served. Still stunning, still pretty, still bold, still loves her father more than any man in the world, still got her hustle and high fashion flow. She’s eager to pay back her enemies, rebuild her father’s empire, reset his crown, and ultimately to snatch Midnight back into her life no matter which bitch had him while she was locked up. But Winter is not the only one with revenge on her mind. Simone, Winter’s young business partner and friend, is locked and loaded and Winter is her target. Will she blow Winter’s head off? Can Winter dodge the bullets? Or will at least one bullet blast Winter into another world? Either way Winter is fearless. Hell is the same as any hood and certainly the Brooklyn hood she grew up in. That’s what Winter thinks.

A heartwarming, heart-burning, passionate, sexual, comical, and completely original adventure is about to happen in real time - raw, shocking, soulful, and shameless. True fans won’t let Winter travel alone on this amazing journey.

Critic reviews

"Long fully embodies Winter's brash and bold personality - a small thing like death isn't going to keep the Santiaga princess from claiming her rightful place in this world or the next." (AudioFile Magazine)

almost lost me at the begining

This book was not what I was expecting. The beginning almost made me think I was not going to enjoy it. It definitely gave you a realistic Viewpoint also very real life circumstances were in this book. Some of it became very intense sexually. Other points talked abt what may be very personal issues...As I continued to read I thought the writer is a complete Mastermind...This was a really good book

Boringggg!!!!

I dont know who wrote this book but it was NOT Sistah Soulja. Nia Long makes it even more boring. Her voice is so depressing and has the same tone throughout the entire book. Even on exciting parts her tone shows nothing. Waste of credits!

Unique angle

I like the the unusual angle the author took us on a journey with. It’s rare for this genre. Winter is a knucklehead but theres plenty of lessons for readers who can relate to her will hopefully learn. I was relieved by the ending.

Waited on part 2 of Coldest Winter Ever for years!

I was disappointed with this book. I did enjoy Nia Long narrating it though. I also get the what the author was saying, I just wished she had more of the father coming back and doing something more or Winter getting with Midnight. I don’t like how she describes her father though that really seemed creepy and weird. Overall this was a good read but not Great!

I struggled to finish

This book was disappointing because of the sexist way women are hold accountable for their mistakes but men are free to commit bigamy, sodomy, and worship money without consequences.

I was so disappointed

I wanted fiction not fantasy and after waiting what seems like 100 years I was disappointed. The writing was good, weird but good. Unexpected and while I get the concept and bigger picture this is not what I waited for. A snake,a dog!! I was weirded out by most of these events until chapter 30 something...i digress

As an long term fan

Nia Long is a legend in her own right! Let’s start there, with that being said she needs to stay on the big screen because she is a horrible narrator!! Respectfully. She sucks. Her inauthentic wordiness takes a way from the story. She lacks any kind of “hood” spirit to even be remotely believable as any character in the book. She does not make it entertaining at all. It aggravates the hell out of me to the point where I stopped 3 chapters in to write this review. She’s a total buzzkill and takes every ounce of steam this story had to begin with. She emphasizes all of the wrong words and has clearly never experienced any of the feelings she’s attempting to tell a story on other than “he makes my pussy purr” I believed that when she said it because so did she. Bad job Nia, Bad job on this pick Sistah..

It’s not too bad

I saw a lot of bad reviews and was skeptical, but I decided to go ahead and read it. I can understand why people are upset because the book would be a lot better if it was written like the first one but for me personally it’s not too bad and I was still able to get into it and I’m still looking forward to reading to the end to see what happens and to me that’s what makes a good/decent book.

This was crazy 🤪

I loved Nia Long narration . However the story line was bananas. I had to go back and listen to certain parts to make sure I heard it right. A bit disappointing 😞

Dark

I struggled to finish but I pushed thru. I enjoyed the last hour of more than the entire book. It was dark, spiritual in a weird way, and all over the place. It was hard to follow. I expected better following CWE but I'm not sure why because I didn't like Midnight either.
