About this listen

Instant Number One New York Times Best Seller

Instant USA Today Best Seller

The long-anticipated sequel to Sister Souljah’s million copy New York Times best seller The Coldest Winter Ever.

Winter Santiaga hit time served. Still stunning, still pretty, still bold, still loves her father more than any man in the world, still got her hustle and high fashion flow. She’s eager to pay back her enemies, rebuild her father’s empire, reset his crown, and ultimately to snatch Midnight back into her life no matter which bitch had him while she was locked up. But Winter is not the only one with revenge on her mind. Simone, Winter’s young business partner and friend, is locked and loaded and Winter is her target. Will she blow Winter’s head off? Can Winter dodge the bullets? Or will at least one bullet blast Winter into another world? Either way Winter is fearless. Hell is the same as any hood and certainly the Brooklyn hood she grew up in. That’s what Winter thinks.

A heartwarming, heart-burning, passionate, sexual, comical, and completely original adventure is about to happen in real time - raw, shocking, soulful, and shameless. True fans won’t let Winter travel alone on this amazing journey.

Critic reviews

"Long fully embodies Winter's brash and bold personality - a small thing like death isn't going to keep the Santiaga princess from claiming her rightful place in this world or the next." (AudioFile Magazine)

Not what I expected

I did not want to hear winter sleeping with demons. I’m sorry this was stupid. If she was to rewrite this book I wouldn’t mind LOL

I was looking for more

I was completely confused till I got to the middle. I waited impatiently for this follow-up and I was a bit disappointed. I came close to stopping, but I was too far in the book to turn back. I didn't care for all the materalist references. Anyhoo.. read for your.

READ UNTIL THE END... I know it's difficult!

Nia Long is an amazing narrator, I enjoyed listening to her. The story's beginning and ending gave readers a small glimpse into what they've been waiting for. However, the bulk of the book delved deeply into scenerios of little to no interest, a lot of it felt like fluff, placed in for shock in awe. Those parts were too long and difficult to get through. I'm assuming Sister Souljah was deliberate on that part but still. I understand the message but the delivery was underwhelming. Still hoping for another sequel to redeem this one.

Not What I Expected

Well this book took an unexpected turn. I guess the title does speak for it to a certain extent but I think it went too far in the underworld for too long. It took me over a week to finish the audio book cause I was so disconnected from it. It was so demonic and spiritually draining. I did like the Nia Long.

Disappointed

I waited for this book. I Absolutely LOVED the coldest winter ever!!!! This book was narrated by Nia Long I was disappointed she surprisingly bored me I couldn’t even finish the rest of the audio book I’m seeking a refund. I really think somebody like Remi Ma, would have been a better narrator. I like Nia Long but not for this book I was Bored!

Definitely not your first novel!!!

This book is totally unexpected. you will be confused as you walk through the afterlife experience with Winter. I found myself frustrated often due to the slow and over communicated storyline and often inconsistent plot. There will be moments where you are intrigued and other times disappointed and let down with the content. This was a novel that will elicit reflection and frustration and have you question if the time spent was worth it. A saving grace was that Nia Long was reading it and her voice and ability to act out scenes was suspenseful.

Lost

SS, is very descriptive . However, I lost the story line with the long descriptions. I was waiting for the descriptive narrative to be over.

Not what I expected at all

This story is heavily religious about what happens in the after life... I was waiting for the "punchline" for most of the book

It wasn’t that bad

It was WEIRD, yes. Definitely not a book you want to fall sleep listening too. Trust me, I did and had a weird dream. However, the overall story was 5 stars! Im proud of Winter and who she became at the end.
