About this listen

Lily Ramsay is the sunshine at the center of the Ramsay clan. Even as a wee lassie, sick with a childhood illness, she had the power to spread smiles and laughter wherever she went. But when Lily's beloved brother marries and becomes laird of the clan, Lily feels lost. Her once steadfast companion has little time for her, and his new wife has assumed the duties she used to carry out for the clan. While she couldn't be happier for her loved ones, she longs for something more for herself. In truth, she longs for her brother's best friend - the braw warrior she's loved all her life.

Kyle Maule has made it his mission to do aught he can to honor his sire's legacy. His appointment as the new Ramsay laird's second is a dream come true, but Lily Ramsay's beauty and irrepressible spirit threaten to make Kyle forget himself and fumble on the job. Desperate to do his duty to his laird and his fallen sire, Kyle tries to quell his feelings for Lily - to protect her without succumbing to the desire to be with her. But Lily is not the sort of lass to be held at arm's length. When an unexpected threat befalls her, Kyle will have to decide to either let her in all the way or step away from her forever.

The Highland Clan Book 3 "Lily" 🌺🛡
Enjoyable Audio Story 💯👏♥️

I enjoy the Clan Grant & Clan Ramsay story because of the love and intimacy between Lily & Kyle ♥️ and unexpected surprises along the way 🤗. Also, the delightful bonding of Sunshine 🐎 Moonbeam 🐺🐺 and Starlight 🌕🌟

It's also fascinating to hear the narrator character voices through the stories of Clan Grant and Clan Ramsay series. To be one within each soul is absolutely amazing 💯

Looking forward in listening to your next audio book 💯👏♥️🤗🌹🛡⚔️

What made the experience of listening to Lily the most enjoyable?

The character of Lily is intriguing because she is so ethereal and other-worldly. I loved the way the author maximized those elements and spun a tale that allowed her nature to soar and her to thrive.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Lily?

I personally enjoyed the scene involving Lily and Moonbeam, their first meeting etc. Very touching.

What does Paul Woodson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The contribution that Paul Woodson brings to this series is TREMENDOUS!!! his performance is totally awesome. Reading these stories without him removes a dimension of enjoyment that I can scarcely put into words, something akin to black/white vs color. His accent and voice variations are delightfully enjoyable. I am an audio book freak and Paul Woodson is one of my most favorite narrators, easily in the top 5 I have ever heard.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There are many but the one that comes immediately to mind was when Kyle and Lily pleasured each other at Edinburgh without violating his or her honor.

I Loved this story

The whining and bratty behavior made this whole book intolerable! All she did was whine about him not doing everything she wanted on her timetable and then blame him. The gaslighting was horrible and the hero was no better.

Main Characters were horrible

I'm not sure what happened here as I've enjoyed the other books in the series (read out of order) but the combination of a character (Lily), who was so unlikeable, and Paul Woodson's over the top narration made this really difficult to get through.
I'll move ahead to Jake but with a bit more trepidation.

Tone down the "drama" Paul - please

Would you try another book from Keira Montclair and/or Paul Woodson?

Yes

Would you ever listen to anything by Keira Montclair again?

Yes

What about Paul Woodson’s performance did you like?

He did a pretty good job considering the weak plot.

What character would you cut from Lily?

Lily?

Any additional comments?

I was hoping the negative reviews about Lily were wrong but I have to agree. My biggest issue with Lily was that she was whiny and still acted like a child instead of a woman grown. Kyle is likable but his weak excuses for not marrying Lily (therefore saving us the CHORE of listening to whiny Lily) and his habit of treating her like a frigging princess. The best parts were the wolves and Logan and Gwyn & their kids....Logan and Gwyn saved yet another book IMO!

Another reviewer mentioned that she felt that the author had a hard time transitioning Lily from a child to a young woman and I think she hit the nail right on the head. I'll never read this one again. Even if I re-read Loki and Torrian; i'll skip this one.

Story 2 (generous)
Narration: 4.5
