Publisher's summary

Falling in love can only mean trouble for an Englisch girl and an Amish boy...unless there's another way for them to listen to their hearts.

Englischer Natalie Collins looks forward to Friday night suppers at Levi and Mary Shetler's house every week: delicious food, wonderful conversation with her Amish friends, and, best of all, the presence of Levi’s older brother, Lucas. Natalie and Lucas have become best friends despite their different backgrounds. They share a love of books, and he is teaching her about God in a way that she can understand.

But the closer they become, the more opinions everyone seems to have. Levi and Mary, Lucas' family, and even Natalie’s mother - whose own life is a mess at the moment - have concerns about their relationship. Why can’t everyone understand that it’s possible to just be friends? Besides, they couldn’t be together even if they wanted to be. Lucas would never leave the Amish faith, and Natalie is Englisch and pursuing a degree in veterinary medicine.

But when a terrifying accident happens, Natalie and Lucas are forced to confront their true feelings and decide if they can stay true to themselves and each other.

This sweet Amish story is the second in the Amish Journeys series by best-selling author Beth Wiseman.

"I always find Beth Wiseman's books to be both tenderly romantic and thought provoking. She has a way of setting a scene that makes me feel like I'm part of an Amish community and visiting for supper. I loved the title of this book, the message about faith and God, and the heartfelt romance between Lucas and Natalie. Listening to Love has everything I love in a Beth Wiseman novel - a strong faith message, a touching romance, and a beautiful sense of place. Beth is such an incredibly gifted storyteller." (Shelley Shepard Gray)

"Listening to Love is vintage Beth Wiseman...clear your calendar because you're going to want to read this one in a single sitting." (Vannetta Chapman, author of Shipshewana Amish Mystery Series)

Listening to Love

This was such a good story, blending the English way of living with the Amish. The Narrator, Lauren Berst, was wonderful and took it right to the end with a smile from myself.

This was one of the best books I have listened to in very long time.

Very nice book!

This was a sweet and endearing book to me. I loved how the characters of different religious stages in their lives and different understandings come together as friends and how relationships form and become damaged and see whether they have the needed faith to repair the imperfections that exist.

Lucas is a young Amish man who has a special and close friendship with Natalie. As this friendship grows family members become very concerned about this and worry that their friendship will become more. And they have too many differences to make this possible.

I couldn't put this book down. It was so good. The author really draws you in. It's good. Really good.
I received a complimentary copy. All thoughts are my own.

Good Book

Beth Wiseman always writes good books that holds my interest. Excellent recording, no loud or low sounds. Lauren Berst never disappoints.

Predictable

It was obvious from the beginning of this book the outcome would be "Preordained"! The premise is sound... An Englisher woman falls in love with an Amish man... There was really only one outcome. Ms. Wiseman didn't disappoint. The complications presented are, I'm sure, genuine, but driving the protagonists apart only to have God reveal the chosen path must have taken years instead of the months portrayed within "Listening To Love".

Narrator Ms. Berst did a commendable job, I will look for more from her.

However Ms. Beth Wiseman will need a different premise for me to buy more of her writings.
