About this listen

1827: During a trek to Loch Ness, Scotland, a young Charles Darwin encounters a mysterious and terrifying creature that provides a spark for his evolutionary theory.

2013: Almost 200 years later and across the channel in Paris, the Eiffel Tower is under attack. Only through detective work, intuition, and a judicious application of high-tech weaponry does former Army combat engineer Tyler Locke prevent a massacre.

What Tyler doesn't know is that the assault is just the beginning of a conspiracy so dark that it not only threatens the lives of those he loves, but could also ignite World War III. Racing against time to uncover Darwin's centuries-old secret, he must solve a series of cryptic clues to find a manuscript that has been so cleverly hidden it hasn't been seen since the Victorian age.

Tyler's quest takes him from the bustling tourist hotspots of Seattle to the splendor of Versailles to the remote Highlands of Scotland in a battle to reveal the shocking truth behind the legend of the Loch Ness monster.

Fantastic Adventure!

A delightful fantasy adventure, with winning characters and gripping dramatic suspense and, of course, Nessie!

not my usual genre

I thought I would step outside of my usual genre which is post apocolyptic. I thought this book had a lot of potential but for me it just kind of drug along. And I wasn't crazy abouttbe narrator either. He wasn't bad at all. just had a sedate, calming tone which made it easy for my mind to wonder.

Entertaining

This isn't as entertaining as some of his other novels, but it is a fast paced thriller and definitely kept me engaged - I would recommend if you are looking for an exciting thriller

Interesting concept

Narrator was wonderful. Characters were generally relatable, and likable. Kinda slow/hard to keep attention in a couple spots, but nothing too horrible...they don't last all that long. Overall a great listen!

Fun but way out there.

Fun book, but a little too much of a stretch. Great chase and fight scenes but the Loch Ness Monster. Cmon man.

Very enjoyable

I must say I don’t agree with his take on evolution or theology but it didn’t ruin the story - just felt a little preachy at times and you could tell he was trying to shove his viewpoint on you. Other than that - fast paced and a great read with interesting characters. This is the second novel I’ve read of his and I’ll probably buy another. Good entertainment!

Loved it!

I liked it! Since it's FICTION, I enjoyed it being a well-written book about a possible Lake Ness Monster, and I loved that he came up with a plausible explanation for it. Thanks for the great read!

Doesn't disappoint

True Tyler Locke novel, but had a little different feel. Can't exactly say why, but the sequencing was a little different from the other novels. If this is the first Tyler Locke novel you read, you'll love it; if you have read them in order, you'll still love it. Characters are still their same enduring selves with good plot development that makes you wonder how Morrison is going to make this believable. A little less Gordonian influenced, more personal, yet the story still has that great mystery to it that Morrison does so well.
