About this listen

Undeterred by world war and enemy submarines, Amelia and Emerson set sail once again for Egypt, where ghosts of an ancient past and spectres of a present-day evil hover silently over an inscrutable land.

In the autumn of 1915 Cairo is transformed into an army camp teeming with enemy agents and shockingly bold tomb robbers are brazenly desecrating the ancient sites. Amelia seeks refuge at a remote dig in Luxor, but this provides no guarantee of safety when she discovers a fresh corpse in an ancient tomb. But are the Emersons in even darker danger with the intervention of one of Amelias oldest and most dangerous adversaries? Tantalizing clues suggest this might be so, and point toward an archaeological discovery of unparalleled importance - and the resurrection of a voice that has been silent for millennia.

I think it has to do with Ramses being more settled I guess.

the story was interesting so all I can think is the change in character or characters.

good, but missed something

The interaction between Ramses and Nefret is a little tedious, but the interaction of all characters, each playing their role, is not to be missed.

A surprise at the beginning. Excellent plot and some character development. The narrator is fantastic and can do SO many different voices and styles!

Moving right along with the family.

Donor pick this up without some background. But if you are a follower like me you will find it consistently well crafted and satisfyingly fun!

I’ve read every book in the series and very much look forward to the next. The story-line while sometimes a bit too male-bashing is still great overall and I absolutely love this narrator. When I’ve finished this series I will search for more from this narrator.

Enjoying this series

And no other narrator is as good as Barbara Rosenblat.
I’ve had this book for many years and read it multiple times, but it was great to enjoy it in a new way.

I have come to love the Emerson family and this book did not disappoint. Enjoyable to see Ramses continue to grow and be more like his father. Ending came a bit quick but I thoroughly enjoyed my journey with this remarkable family and look forward to the next

Lighter than the previous Emerson story but just wonderful
