This is a very hard one to review as it has so much going for it and yet still needs a lot of work. Regards the book: Nothing that a spiffy edit could not fix but the narration is another matter: I immediately warmed to Daena's narration and was thinking what a great run I have had with narrator's lately. I really like Daena's pacing, seamless transitions between plot points and her general cadence. But the male voices - especially Rico - I was about to throw my phone across the room.

Moving on, the other issue I could not get past was the MC Reagan's character - she was totally self-absorbed, vain, a cheater, holds grudges, jumps to conclusions, and overall is just a really unfortunate person. Yet men fall over themselves to marry her. It was all too extreme and ridiculous. Her character needed toning down to allow the reader to engage warmly with her.

Some of the sub-plot characters were much easier to warm to but I was unclear why their story was in the book at all - was seriously disconnected from the main plotlines. If included, they need to be properly integrated into the story. I do think they are worthy of inclusion not just as a blob inserted in.

You will be wondering why 4 stars if so many negatives but the book kept my attentions, was full of energy and vibrance and interest and who doesn't love a good redemption story.
