Publisher's summary

An unexpected rescue rekindles an old romance between a single dad widower and a woman caught in a small-town scandal that made her flee the one place where she belongs. Can a second chance at first love end in a happily ever after?

Luke Luview has given up on love. Finally ready to let go of his late wife’s clothes, the grieving small-town police officer and single dad thinks he’s hearing things when he opens the charity box door. Who knocks from the inside of a donation bin?

The raccoon he assumes is in there turns out to be way prettier—and very familiar. Rescuing the first girl he ever kissed means life has dealt him a wild card with Kylie Hood, his late wife’s best friend who left town suddenly 15 years ago under a cloud of scandal.

Kylie Hood will never depend on a man again. Dumped by her boyfriend and fired by his parents from her children’s programming job at their ski resort in rural Maine, she hits rock bottom while throwing out her ex’s clothes—along with her phone and car keys.

Being rescued by Luke Luview, of all people, is a gift and a curse. The boy she once loved is now all grown up, everything her ex wasn’t—and absolutely off limits.

Accepting his offer to be his temporary nanny while she job searches in New York City, Kylie falls hard for his sweet daughter, and even harder for Luke. A clause in her employment contract means they can’t fraternize, but fate has other plans, and forbidden fruit is twice as sweet.

As the town she reluctantly left years ago accepts her more and more, and Luke makes it clear he wants ta second chance with her in their close-knit community, Kylie has to decide: an exciting new career in Manhattan on her own, or an instant family and a sense of belonging in her small hometown?

And as Luke wrestles with the pain of being left behind by his wife’s accidental death, he has to balance his responsibilities to his daughter with his own needs. Needs he’s ignored for far too long.

Needs only Kylie can meet.

But not if she leaves.

Can Luke and Kylie rekindle their first love and find a new future together in a place where love conquers all?

If you’re looking for a fun story about first kisses and second chances, featuring a hot single-dad police officer and his accidental nanny, set in a small town in New England, with a golden retriever named Jester, a heroine whose dream in life is to run a fairy camp, and a hero who wants to build a place where everyone belongs—then this is your book.

Grab a cup of coffee or tea, and maybe some edible glitter, and get your happy meter ready as you listen to the second book in the Love You, Maine, series—where love isn’t just a feeling…it’s a way of life.

A feel good romance

I love this book, actually I think I’m in love with Luview, Maine. There’s something about a small town, second chance romance that makes my heart happy. Luke and Kylie have such a sweet story between them and Erin Mallon and Teddy Hamilton are the perfect narrators to bring their story to life.

Gotta love Erin Mallon and Teddy Hamilton

Excellent second in this newest series. I have both read and listened to this story. This book and audio is more serious and heartachey (now a new real word) than the first, yet so much humor and laughs included, it touched my heart. One of my favorites from this book:

“She threw a kitchen towel at him. Jester jumped up, snatched it in his teeth, and made off for his dog bed like he’d killed a bird in mid-air, eyes cutting over to Luke in triumph. See? I protected you, a mere human, from certain death, those eyes said. Give me a treat.”

And there are a plethora of these. Grab this or add it to your TBR list, an excellent fun read and listen.

Outstanding story and narration

I could not wait to read Love You again, the second book in the latest series from Julia Kent. As with other books I have read by this author it was well written, entertaining and with wonderful characters whose story you cannot help but quickly become invested in.

Their meet cute was outrageous and had me laughing so much my husband thought I was cray. Luke Luview and Kylie Hood’s second chance at love story that ticked all the boxes for me. They have history but Luke is still trying to deal with the tragic death of his wife in an accident.

Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon did a wonderful job with this story and brought the characters and story to life for me. One of the things that I loved was Luke’s family and the quirky characters that make up the population of this small town of Luview "Love You", Maine. There were moments where I was moved to tears as Luke struggled with his emotions. Can Luke convince Kylie to take a chance with him and his gorgeous daughter or will she take the job offer in New York?

An entertaining, witty, emotional story that ticked all the boxes for me.

Second chance with a healthy dose of fairy dust

I ADORED this second installment in the Love You, Maine series! Second chance romance is my personal crack. Add to it an adorable kid, hot mess of a dog, an entire big family and incredibly nosy town (who among us DOESN'T want to take a bet in the pool on when they're gonna get together?), and you have a delightful read that will have you falling in love over and over again.

Repeat Audio Chapter

As always I’m a JK fan. This book was no different. Only issue was chapter 38 was repeated.

Delightful romantic comedy with Luviews in Maine. Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon are consummate pros! Luke and Kylie with his daughter Harriet are so fun, and heartwarming. A very very enjoyable listen for me📚

An excellent romantic comedy

I love how Julia Kent writes!! I just read the books in this series that are out, and wanted a good laugh while traveling so bought the two that are out as audiobooks. I was not disappointed! Julia writes well with great story lines and wonderful characters. AND SHE IS FUNNY! I don't typically go for romcoms because I just do not get the humor. I snickered at this small town. LOVE YOU AGAIN felt more serious though. It tugged at my heart a bit more than book one. But there were plenty of moments that I laughed out loud. A definite reread/relisten!!

Erin Mallon and Teddy Hamilton are excellent narrators. They, once again, performed with perfection while bringing this book to life. I want to be a part of this small town.

Brilliant performance of a Phenomenal Book!

I am so in love with this series! It just gets better and better with each book. The character of Luke, though… He just has a special place in my heart. When we were reintroduced to his character in Love You Right, my heart just broke for that man. And it was so obvious just in the snippets of time we had with him in that book that he was a man in tremendous pain who was doing everything he could just to get through each day and to be present for his daughter. I knew his book was going to be something special, and I was right. This book is deep and emotional and heart wrenching at times, but also hopeful and sweet and really freaking funny—pretty much everything we’ve come to expect from a Julia Kent book. From the insanely hilarious meet cute to the totally endearing HEA, this story moves you. The characters move you. Their relationships move you. Heck, even the backdrop of the story moves you. The worldbuilding in this book is so exquisite that the town of Love You, Maine is a character in and of itself—one that changes and grows with each book just like the other characters. I have to tell you, I grew up in a small town… and I kind of hated it. But I have fallen in love with this charming little town, ironically for many of the same reasons I hated the small town I grew up in. Such is the magic of Julia Kent. She just has a way of effortlessly engaging your heart in every story she writes—taking you through the full spectrum of emotions. And you happily go along for the ride. Luke and Kylie’s second-chance romance is touching and poignant and deeply satisfying. The main characters, as well as all of the supporting characters, are nuanced and layered and very real. I really can’t recommend this book and this series highly enough. It is truly romantic comedy at its finest.
Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon do a brilliant job of narrating this book, elevating an already fantastic book to phenomenal status. Their emotional, impassioned, and witty performances are a an absolute master class in narration.

Delightful narration!

I really enjoyed Luke and Kylie’s book because of their past connection, the empathy I felt for Luke and his daughter Harriet, and the genuine affection that grows between Luke’s daughter Harriet and Kylie throughout the story. Both characters have emotional triggers that are compelling and realistic, but it’s their genuine love for their small town and the bright and precocious six year old that shines through. Sadly the climactic breakup scene between Luke and Kylie was predictable but it’s the affection, chemistry, and commitment between them was satisfying, entertaining, and uplifting. The quirky residents of Love You, Maine are the highlight of the story and their shenanigans and betting on Luke and Kylie’s relationship made me laugh out loud. Their story is the perfect combination of romance, interpersonal dynamics, and comedic entertainment and the delightful narration performances of Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon are the icing on the cake.
