About this listen

You say that love and hate are one; but I see more hate in the world than love. At the same time, you say that enlightenment is neither love nor hate. Are you speaking of two different qualities of love? How does this fit with your message of love?

"Love and hate are just two sides of the same coin. But with love something very drastic has happened. It is unimaginable how this drastic step was taken by people who had all the good intentions in the world. You may never have even suspected what has destroyed love. It is the continuous teaching of love that has destroyed it. Hate is still pure - love is not."

Due to all the attention love gets in the modern world, packaged as a modern commodity Osho took the time to redefine love and explain how humanitys concept of love has kept them from love. Hate has not been defined and yet everyone knows all about hate, everyone has experienced it and we all are intimately familiar with it. The concept Osho defines here is a people who are out of touch with love and only know the passionate hate. Hate is always genuine, no one says they hate you and don't mean it but with love a great deal of the time it is performance art. He ends the discussion with how to love and describes it as a rain cloud full of rain that just has to drop what's it's carrying because it's so filled with moisture and that this is the perfect example of someone filled with love. The rain falls on rocks that don't soak up the rain but receive it regardless, the cloud drops the rain regardless of how it is received. This is true love described and defined: a love given to the whole world with no discrimination. He speaks about awareness being the foundation of this, that essentially the things you want grow and the things you don't want die. Cultivate love in your life and eschew hate.

Very slow start but don't be discouraged, lots of wisdom contained within to be absorbed.
