About this listen

After barely surviving a horrific accident, then being held captive for years by Earth Government, Venice must escape the planet. She thinks she's found the answer to her prayers when she contracts to be a deep-space bride - only to find herself facing an even bigger nightmare. Hiding from her con man "husband" aboard his space station, she comes across an intimidating cyborg...one who could just be her last hope.

Deviant is humiliated when his father suggests he visit a pleasure center to make use of a sex bot. True, the defects he was born with have assured female cyborgs will never consider adding him to a family unit. But he still has his pride. The woman who enters the room, however, is incredibly lifelike, and she quickly has Deviant feeling things he'd never dreamed - right until the moment he finds out she's human. Sort of...

Venice needs Deviant's help to get off the space station. Deviant is lonely, and in need of someone to teach him how to pleasure a female. They strike a bargain, one that has Venice giving up her freedom. But soon it's her heart that's at greater risk. It's easy loving Deviant...even when others are determined to make it difficult.

Heartwarming Story

I really liked this story. Some of the issues mentioned in this story happen in real life i.e. some people being treated less than because of what others consider a flaw, and how this affects a person. I loved this book from beginning to end. This book made me laugh during events that occurred at the beginning. Really great listen!

One of the lighter, but satisfying reads in the series

Both very likeable characters in one of the more satisfying reads in Dohner's Cyborg series. Kennedy does a decent but in no way inspired narration. My personal opinion is that the stories in the series have become progressively better. My least favorite female was in book1. Apart from some moments of dark humor in the beginning, that heroine was TSTL and a big turnoff. Those characters were not believable in the context of the world Dohner built. Too bad Dohner hasn't given us the snapshots into the lives of previous characters which give the satisfaction of HEA, & link the series tighter together. There would be more value to the books & series than any minor negative implication that the book isn't completely "stand-alone".

TOE CURLING HOTNESS AS USUAL

I barely read the reviews or book details of Laurann Dohner books before I get them because it's a given that you're in for a smoking hot paranormal love story with heroes and heroines you're guaranteed to root for. Deviant is considered 'damaged' by his kind and his self esteem is the lowest of low until he meets Venice who helps him learn how to please a woman in exchange for her safety from various threats. Romance quickly ensues and its yet another winner from Laurann Dohner.

Laurann Cyborg Seduction is awesome

I really enjoyed this book with Deviant and Venice.
It's a cool spin on acceptance and love. Sure hope she gives Malvo a story. Are there any nice cyborg women?

I like it but

I enjoy these stories but the narration could be better. I love the dual narration. I do not like hearing women try to talk like a man. Or vice versa. Narration makes a good book better.

It's so wonderful to be different.

Deviant is every woman's dream. He's strong yet caring, but most of all he's romantic. I can't wait for the next new book. I own every one of them so far and I'm on the lookout for more. Keep em coming and I'll keep reading.

Loving tale of rescue and HEA

Where does Loving Deviant rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It has no spanking scenes so that was a disappointment for my kinky soul but it was a lovely story of risk, rescue and reward.

Would you be willing to try another book from Laurann Dohner? Why or why not?

Yes, I most certainly will, I LOVE AUDIO BOOKS!!!!

What about Mindy Kennedy’s performance did you like?

Mindy Kennedy was WONDERFUL!!!! I will most certainly be looking for her narration in the future.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

why would anyone go to a film when they can remain in the blissful comfort of their home and enjoy AUDIO BOOKS??????

Consent, I love thee.

This would have to be my favorite book by Laurann Dohner. I read a lot of erotic fiction and in my mind nothing is sexier than consent, which is inexplicably optional in most erotic romance, especially of the Sci-Fi variety.

Without delving into the plot of the book, I will say that this one isn't quite as fraught with tension as some of the others in the series. But if you're looking for more fun sweet cyborg action that doesn't involve women threatening to kill themselves because of an untenable situation they've found themselves in, this one is for you!

Honestly the tone of the relationship between Deviant and Venice reminds me a lot Dizzy and Venom in Saved by Venom by Lolita Lopez. The guy wants the girl, the girl wants the guy, she might be shy and a little conflicted, but she's enlisting in the experience and *that* for me, makes this book not only listenable, but re-listenable.
