Series gets better

Really enjoying this groundbreaking series. Characters get richer and deeper as the series progresses. Author has gone beyond the “who done it “”to the why and how it affects the officers on the job. Well done.

NOT BAD!!

Pretty entertaining book by a very good author. Great narration! There were a lot of characters involved, with more being introduced as we went along, so it was a little bit of a challenge to keep track but, overall, not bad at all. Definitely worth a listen.

How does McBain keep them coming?

What did you love best about Lullaby?

The cadence of the story, like an old "Drag Net" episode of the 60's. A reader/listener will either like the cast of detectives; a strange group, except Steve Carella, or they will not. Like any detective SERIES, and McBain has a long list of books in his 87th Precinct series, the books get better the more one reads them. But back to the cadence of the story; it is slow and repetitive much like, I would imagine, the real like task of tracking down a killer.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Steve Carella is what all cops should be: a good man, a wonderful husband and father, and one who always gets his killer.

Which scene was your favorite?

A good reader.

Any additional comments?

I would suggest to anyone who does not know this series to start from the first. Knowing the detectives makes this group of mysteries different than others. But be careful; if you enjoy them, if you begin to care about them, you are in for HOURS AND HOURS of story time.
