Publisher's summary

Sports agent Myron Bolitar is poised on the edge of the big time. So is Christian Steele, a rookie quarterback and Myron's prized client. But when Christian gets a phone call from a former girlfriend, a woman who everyone, including the police, believes is dead, the deal starts to go sour. Trying to unravel the truth about a family's tragedy, a woman's secret, and a man's lies, Myron is up against the dark side of his business - where image and talent make you rich, but the truth can get you killed.

In novels that crackle with wit and suspense, Edgar Award winner Harlan Coben has created one of the most fascinating and complex heroes in suspense fiction - Myron Bolitar - a hotheaded, tenderhearted sports agent who grows more and more engaging and unpredictable with each pause-resisting appearance.

Great Finish

I won’t give a spoiler but it had a great finish because it was a great surprise. The story was very good, the lines that Byron were comical as if anyone who had a quick wit would give I was laughing so loud I was embarrassed to myself. I love Winn I hope he is in the other books with Byron he also had me laughing out loud. The narrator Jonathan Marosz was fantastic his delivery of the characters wit was delivered on time. I have already purchased the two audio books following this one. I have never given a audiobook review but had to for Deal Breaker. It made me laugh and I needed it desperately. Purchase this audiobook u weren’t regret it.

Good story!

I’ve had many recommendations to read the books about Myran Solitar. I really liked the book and thought it kept a good pace.

Great Heros

I like the appeal of the type of hero cast in Myron. Complex, conflicted, but strong of purpose and a web of supporting characters that are also admirable. I like Harlan Coben anyway for a great read, but am especially looking forward to more stories that include Myron.

Great mystery

Like any other Coben's story, it was filled with twists and turns. Very enjoyable plot even though I am not a sports fan.

I have a problem with this narrator. He reads like it is an evening news script. It does not do justice to Coben's characters. Many of the characters sound alike and out of this world.

This book would have been a better experience had it been narrated by Steven Weber or Scott Brick.

Great one!

Decided to start with book 1 and wasn't disappointed. Looking forward to book 2 and the rest! I started this book to have something to listen to in the car during my work commute and found myself listening long after I was home.

I forgot how much I love Myron

I have always loved the Myron books. I am especially fond of Win. While I love the book, I did not think the narrator made Win as scary as he should!

Suspense, humor and great characters

Plot takes many twists and turns, couldn’t stop listening. Laughed out loud several times. Takes place before smart phones!
