Malestrom:The Downing of Eagle 21:Guardian Chron

Imagine working for a government organization and not being able to trust anyone in or outside your organization. What organization? That would be the organization conducting the investigation, of course. The trust factor is ZERO with human agents as well as all electronic avenues you might use to conduct or report the findings of your investigation. What do you I when the trust factor is nonexistent?

Trust the only thing left to you, your instincts.

Read/listen to absorb this thriller that touches on what our world may become in the months and years to come. Be alert, be vigilant, but trust no one... until your trust level rises above ZERO.

What could have been a decent story, was destroyed

Would you try another book from RL Young and/or Chuck Patyk?

RL young has a ways to go, to learn the skills of a writer. Progression, character development and transitions, needs loads of work. Chuck Patyk... what can I say..my nine year old grandson could read this with more passion. He sounds as if he was reading a book, that he has never read before, and was paid to just mouth the words.

Has Maelstrom: The Downing of Eagle21 turned you off from other books in this genre?

I have several hundred books in this genre, and love all but one other. I am afraind that I am going to have to return this one. I tried to listen to it three times, and could not get past the first thirty minutes.

How could the performance have been better?

First, read the book, before you do an audible presentation. Try to understand the character, the dialect, accent and passion. If you have an accent (southern) please work on losing it before you attempt doing a German, Russian, English or French character. The entire process of reading a book for someone else to hear, is to try to make it interesting. Think back to when you were a kid, and told your brother or sister a scary story. Was your delivery flat, unenthusiastic. or did you really try to be the scary person, and the person being scared?

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Complete disappointment, but the author should not give up, practice makes perfect, or at least closer to it.
