About this listen

The author of the New York Times best seller I Let You Go propels listeners into a dark and claustrophobic thriller in which a normal, everyday woman becomes trapped in the confines of her normal, everyday world.

Every morning and evening, Zoe Walker takes the same route to the train station, waits at a certain place on the platform, finds her favorite spot in the car, never suspecting that someone is watching her.

It all starts with a classified ad. During her commute home one night, while glancing through her local paper, Zoe sees her own face staring back at her - a grainy photo along with a phone number and a listing for a website called FindTheOne.com.

Other women begin appearing in the same ad, a different one every day, and Zoe realizes they've become the victims of increasingly violent crimes - including murder. With the help of a determined cop, she uncovers the ad's twisted purpose, a discovery that turns her paranoia into full-blown panic. Zoe is sure that someone close to her has set her up as the next target.

And now that man on the train - the one smiling at Zoe from across the car - could be more than just a friendly stranger. He could be someone who has deliberately chosen her and is ready to make his next move.

interesting story

good story line but I think it would have helped to have the speaker's name stated at the beginning of each chapter.

Ok

Nothing new really. It was just ok. The narration was a bit irritating when men were portrayed. Pretty typical though. Why men always sound mad and girls seem to whine is beyond me but I find it pretty common. That’s it.

Couldn’t put it down

This was some of her best work. I thought that I let you go would have been my favorite, but this book had so many more turns and twists. The twist at the end and totally knocks everyone off their feet, it keeps you guessing until the very end. I thought the narrator did a great job embodying the characters and when it comes to suspense she put the suspense in my heart as she was reading it. Great book!

great ending

I enjoyed the story and the suspense... and the ending was great! However I was frustrated by the emotional weakness of one of the female leading characters.

Riveting

This book was well written and kept me on the edge of my seat every step. I have one hour to read every day and I was looking forward to each new day with anticipation. The ending was a surprise but it made sense once it was done. Still pretty scary when it’s all done.

good but slow to gain momentum

the book was hard to get into at first with all the narratives. However it came together at the end and was unpredictable. Just wished there is more movement throughout the story.

Good Story but...

This was a good story with good characterization , The premise for the mystery was interesting but the "who done it" didn't quite come together for me, it came out of nowhere. Because if that, I would give it a 3.75 if I could, just shy of a 4. I thought the narration was great.
