About this listen

Lucius Vinemont has spirited me away to a world of sugarcane and sun. There is nothing he cannot give me on his lavish Cuban plantation. Each gift seduces me; each touch seals my fate. There is no more talk of depraved competitions or his older brother - the one who'd stolen me, claimed me, and made me feel things I never should have. Even as Lucius works to make me forget Sinclair, my thoughts stray back to him, to the dark blue eyes that haunt my sweetest dreams and bitterest nightmares. Just like every dream, this one must end. Christmas will soon be here, and with it the second trial of the Acquisition.

Full disclosure: This book is a dark romance with elements of slavery, violence, BDSM, and super-hot sex. It is the second book of a trilogy and ends on a cliffhanger. If you're good with these caveats, enjoy.

WTH! Omg! Speechless

I rarely give 5 star ratings. I listened to the entire series before ratings these books. Every book left me drop jawed and immediately downloading the next book. This series is dark and extremely gritty. Not my thing for sure (at least not for a romantic relationship but love dark gritty movies and this fit the bill)but it is so well written and narrated it deserves more than 5 stars. Reading the reviews this is one of those series that you either love or hate no in between. So if dark an gritty aren’t your thing then you should skip this one instead of downloading something you will likely hate and give a poor review for no reason. ##CristinasAudiobookObessions ##AudiobookObsessionsReviewer

WoW

To be honest, I expected to struggle with this series because of the dark nature. However, I found myself captivated. I couldn't stop listening to all three books because I was so invested in the main characters. I found myself on the edge of my seat, hoping for their safety and victory. The narrator's did an amazing job painting the picture and emotions.

Awesome!!!!!!

I loved this book couldn't put it down. Now that Stella belonged to Lucius he had taken her to Cuba for a little vacation while he atteneded some work, but after some trouble Sinclair showed up to protect her. Sinclair, Lucius and Stella get an invitation to Cal's house because he's going to introduce a new family, but when they get there Stella is surprised who it is. The christmas trial was the next event and Stella was not looking forward to it. When Stella thought she was going to make it someone caught her, but when she saw who it was she was happy until he told her what he intended to do to her.

Hunting Acquisitions

Book 2 Magnate in Acquisitions series and is as dark and sinister as the first book and just as intensely twisted. The secrets, the matriarch, the self blame, and loathing, takes a tole on everyone in their own way. Some survive better than others.

Celia Aron has created a delicious and dark story weaving a web of cynicism that kept me on the edge of my seat, forcing me to take fierce imaginary alliances among all the characters in the story. Loving to hate some, hating to love others, then leaving me stunned, and shocked.

Learning more answers to the sinister legacy and family secrets, and the intense interactions between the strong personalities of characters, made me imagine I would feel like I was walking through Alcatraz fully populated. This delicious novel, while often disturbing made me crave more with each chapter, while continuing to crave the emotional interaction between Sin and Stella.

Can't wait for the next book, to find out if Stella will continue to be a prisoner or find the fire inside.
OH and the narration by Robyn Verne and Stephen Dexter....PHENOMENAL!

So dark

Continued amazing writing and a very intriguing story, but also so much more darkness. There are a few moments of light, but it is almost as if they are there to allow you to take a breath before the next heart wrenching scene.

Great Addition To The Series

This is the 2nd book in Celia Aaron's Acquisition Series. This is different style of book but I love it. It has some dark twists but I was sucked in to the characters and what happens to them. Celia Aaron has a way with words that are like no other author I have ever listened to. She kept me guessing on what was going to happen next. I was invested in the characters from the first book and just as invested in them in this book as well. I felt as if I was there with them through out the unfolding of the story. I can not wait to read the next one. I will definitely be re-reading this series.
Celia Aaron is a wonderful story teller and I could picture the whole book while I was reading it. I was able to put myself there and I think that makes reading this book so great. Celia Aaron is an author to watch she is amazing and I will be listening all that I can from her.
I hope you can enjoy this book as much as I did.

Robyn Verne and Stephen Dexter were outstanding with the delivery of the story

Book 2 - deeper into the Acquistion and the trials- darker

The first book left a cliff hanger and this second one leads to a more horrible trail of this acquisition. I like the way Stella grew stronger but falling deeper in love with Sin..more secrets and more discovery...addictive and darker

More!!

To start off this book is NOT for anyone who’s week hearted!! Celia Aaron took these books too a whole new level. Their romantic and loving but yet has this twisted & dark side. Kept me on the edge of my seat. Robyn Verne & Stephen Dexter both made the book come to life with their performances! Next book please!!

Stellaaaaa

In this second installment of The Acquisition series, we pick up right where we left off and are thrown back into the Vinemont sons world.

Stella has made choices that she doesn't fully understand the consequence too and Lucias, the middle brother, is right there to step in.

The 1st trial is over and Christmas will bring the 2nd and they say, the most difficult trial of the 4. Celia Aaron sucked me in and I was right there with Stella, feeling as though I was experiencing this incredibly messed up world. I cried for her and felt joy for her. I love reading such a strong and brave female character. Stella is a bad ass to her core.

It's a cliffy but all 3 books are out so it's a non issue for me. Most definitely worth the purchase.

Robyn is the primary narrator through this book and she holds it down. Bringing to life the utter humiliation and complete loss the characters must have felt. Stephen was also perfection. To portray such a difficult character, he did amazing.
