About this listen

Mariella Montague has grown up surrounded by wealth and privilege, but she has a kind heart and a generous spirit. When she is not volunteering her services and her allowance to charitable events though, she often feels out of step with her world. When her world crumbles around her, she takes the bold step of moving to Montana, where she unexpectedly finds a true home and the answers that were always out of reach.

Will Shepton is new to Silver River, but as a hardworking blacksmith, his talents are in great demand. Though his good friend Harry lives nearby, he begins to crave companionship and the love of his own family.

Mail order bride Mariella

Loved it! I know personally how she felt considering I had gone through the same, but with my stepmother. A woman should always be herself, not put in a box.

I received this audible book at no cost for my honest review

Mail Order Bride Mariella

Mail Order Bride Mariella: Silver River Brides, Book 3
: Karla Gracey

A sweet, clean western, mail order bride historical fiction. Book 3 in the series brings Mariella Montague to Montana as a mail order bride. Several twists keep the listener guessing.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. Alan Taylor does a fine job of bringing the story to life.

Strong woman makes a good story!

Karla Gracey keeps this series fresh with each episode. In this novella, we meet Mariella, a woman born into wealth and privilege. She is not happy with the choices of spouses her parents have for her and answers a letter for a mail order bride. Will is looking for a partner and is taken with Marilella's prose. Moving from New York to Montana, Mariella is hoping that her choice to wed this gentleman is the correct one. I really love the character of Mariella. She is willing to enter a man's profession to work side by side with her husband and is able to show that she can perform the job well. Love it!

Alan Taylor continues his wonderful narration of this series. He is just perfect for historical romance.

Short sweet clean interesting read

Any additional comments?

When everyone wants a small short woman Mariella is left out. She is having trouble finding a man she wants that wants her. She is taller than most men and men being men do not like a women looking down on them. Their poor ego can’t take it. Her parents have decided they will pick a man for her he is old and not what she wants. She decided after reading a mail order bride ad there is one man that does interest her. They write back and forward until the day her parents tell her she will marry someone they picked. She decides to make a run for it leaving all her wealth behind it isn’t important she doesn’t need much. As Mariella and Will get to know each other they decide they will meet. With her parents decision the meet date is moved up. The question is will they marry and if so how will her family deal with the issue.

Mr. Taylor does a wonderful job of narration from the many different characters to the feel of emotions. You never are in doubt just who is talking or what they are feeling. I found both his female and male voices to be a delight from the strong male to the soft female you could really feel the pain, sorrow, and happiness he gives them. I heard no background noise or any places where the volume changes. There are no repeating of words just a wonderful delightful listen. If any breaks where taken I could not tell. His voice is strong and clear giving you a delightful listen. His performance is outstanding from the emotion to his voices he really make the story come alive. He is a very talented narrator that pulls the listener in giving a very vivid listen that you can picture the scenes in your mind.

I enjoyed this plot it was very entertaining. The characters are wonderful it was fun watching them fall in love and just how all that played out. If you are looking for a short sweet clean romance than this mail order bride might just be for you.
