Publisher's summary

With a big anniversary party in the works for her parents, Ryan will pretend to be Abby's husband for just one last weekend.

Ryan McKinley has tried to move on from his ex-wife, Abby. He's sulked, he's gotten angry, and ultimately he bought her dream house. Big mistake. Living alone in the massive two-story has only made him miss her more. When her parents call him out of the blue about their anniversary party in Summer Harbor, Maine, Ryan believes God has dropped a golden opportunity straight in his lap.

Abby McKinley never exactly told her parents about the divorce. A strained relationship with her dad has culminated in a distant relationship with her parents, but she's finally succumbed to her mom's pressure to make the drive for their 35th-anniversary party.

Then Ryan shows up on her doorstep, looking as devastatingly handsome as ever. When he insists he's going to Seabrook with or without her, Abby knows she can't say no. Her parents still think they're married, and now Ryan knows it too. Besides, he only wants to check in with his best friend from college - her cousin, Beau, who just lost his dad. It's just a one-week road trip with the man who broke her heart. What could possibly go wrong?

Romance instead of soft porn

I am an avid romance reader but since 50 shades it seems most authors go heavy on the description of sex and light on building the relationship between the characters. Not so with this book!! This is a story about relationships, between the characters, between the characters and God, friendships, etc. I rate this a step above what passes as romance lately.

I'd say it rates as #4

hard to follow narration when it's the same monotone voice( JLC is a great voice) just no emotion in it .
sorry

Leaving it and being led

Amazing story that literally punches you in the heart....so much reality with misunderstandings, miscommunication and not listening to what the other feels. Letting themselves be led by God and learning to forgive...excellent lesson.

Monday

Abuse of any kind can lead to a number of mental health issues. Thank you Ms. Hunter, for showing some of it in your story. Well done.

Good Read—but It is Read

A book read instead of narrated is a automatic lower rating for me. The hero’s deep voice read in a high squeal doesn’t work. Carr Read well but she reads. The story of marriage restored and childhood baggage usually depresses me. This is cute. The plot is weak but the resolutions fairly well-done.

Leave this heroine behind!

Married 'Til Monday is the story of a couple who have been divorced for over three years, but she has yet to tell her parents that her marriage has failed. When her ex-husband receives a call from the parents demanding that he bring their daughter to their 35th anniversary party in Maine, he sees this as an opportunity to win his ex-wife back. The heroine in the story, Abby, is the nastiest cold witch who didn't deserve a second chance with Ryan (the ex-husband). I really disliked Abby's character, regardless of the childhood and background that she endured. I was rooting for them to break-up! Skip this book and find another one where the heroine is actually a decent persion.
