About this listen

Can two hurting people make peace with their pasts—and find a new beginning together?

After a devastating trauma derails all her plans, Kelsey Anderson leaves her highpowered corporate job and moves to her grandmother’s lake house in Michigan to open a quilt shop, begin a new life, and make a difficult decision. Quiet is what she wants—and quiet is what she has … until war-weary ex-Army doctor Luke Turner invades her world. In town for a few weeks to fulfill a promise, he’s no more interested in romance than she is. But Kelsey’s public relations background is just what he needs to complete his mission. As they work together, sparks fly … but will Kelsey’s secret—and the looming choice she faces—derail their romance almost before it begins?

Bestselling author Irene Hannon pens another heartwarming novel that demonstrates the power of love to triumph over obstacles—and how good can often come even from the worst situations.

Some difficult dynamics especially in Kelsey’s case…make for some tough barriers in this story. Didn’t love it as much as some other stories by Irene Hannon, but definitely a cut above most all others❣️

Sweet story though hard to swims through some of the thinking of both main characters.

I loved the story and the entire presentation ! I have come to love Irene Shannon’s books. This book is one of my favorites. I am also a fan of Therese Plummer because she is able to bring each character to life in a distinct and expressive way. I appreciate the way a heartbreaking event was treated and a woman was able to embrace her child , seeing the child apart from its conception.

A sweet story of redemption

This is a beautiful story of two broken people facing one of the most difficult choices you can imagine. Kelsey has already made the first hard decision in deciding to carry her baby, and honor LIFE. But she will soon be faced with another choice . . . just at the time that she has met a godly man. Army doctor, Luke comes and moves in next door, trying to honor a commitment he made to a dying soldier. As the two get to know one another, both are surprised to find that they aren't that different. Wonderful story, well told.
