About this listen

The U.S. Marshals service seeks a K9 Unit for their elite strike team tasked with hunting down America's most wanted criminals. Caitlyn Reed and her K9 partner, Renegade, are called up to the varsity to face this harrowing challenge. Has she bitten off more than she can handle?

Moose Creek Sheriff Colt Branson finds himself in the foray as a part of the U.S. Marshal’s new federal, state, and local joint task force aimed at bringing down the worst of the worst who have taken up refuge in his own backyard, the windswept wilderness of northeastern Wyoming.

Caitlyn, Renegade, and Colt battle not only the heinous outlaws, but the rugged Wyoming mountains. In this cat-and-mouse thriller, who is hunting whom?

This is a great story!

Of all the books in the series I've listened to, this is the best so far. Caitlyn and her canine partner, Renegade, are now U.S. Deputy Marshalls. She took this move in order to further her relationship with Colt, the county sherrif (where she previously worked).
She soon gets involved in a jewel robbery case that crosses over into Colt's territory. Add in ties to a previous case, a kidnapping, horses, injuries all around and you have a suspenseful story. There will be more to come.
While these can be listened to or read as stand alone, youll benefit by taking them in order to learn how Caitlyn, Renegade, her family and Colt continue to grow.
Well done!

WELL DONE

Well done story for the most part. I find it hard to believe a whole family couldn't get dad to see a doctor. Why didn't Caitlin get an APB OR BOLO out on the mother immediately after the daughter implicated her.

Complex Thriller

I enjoyed book 3, "Marshal" of the "Tin Star K9" series. In this story, Caitlyn, Renegade, and Colt become embroiled in a manhunt being conducted by U.S. Marshals. The story showed development in the characters. There were many surprising twists and turns. There was plenty of action. The epilogue let us know that the story has not ended; therefore, I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. Joyce Oben's narration was entertaining. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

Tightly woven & well-written suspense

Marshal (Tin Star K9 Series, Book #3), my ninth read from author Jodi Burnett. I read my first book from her back in January & this book is her best work to date continuing the trend of well-written, enjoyable book, it caught my attention in the opening pages & I never put it down until completed. “I received a free Audible copy of this book and I'm voluntarily leaving a review." Joyce Oben"s narration made an excellent book even better and the re-read of the book more than worthwhile. The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading more in this series & from this author. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

This was the best of the series so far. I did listen out of order so I know where it goes next

The characters were better fleshed out in this book. The storyline was more interesting and it is always helpful to find familiar faces for context.

Fabulous story

Caitlyn & Colt had to keep their relationship seperate from work. Since they both worked for the sheriffs office, one had to move on. Since Colt won the vote for sheriff, Caitlyn started looking when a chance for her & Renegade to become part of the US Marshalls division. It was hard for her being away from her family since her dad was sick but she did it and graduated. Then came her first case and what a doosey it was. A great story that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Can't wait for more.

I love this series!

I love Renegade and Caitlyn. Marshall is nonstop action that has you on the edge of your seat the whole time. There
not as much of Caitlyn's keen investigative skills in this book but she is starting a new role as a US Marshall so it may take time to fit into new role. The romance between Cole and Caitlyn heats up quite a bit from where it was in book 2. This relationship adds to the tension and suspense as the two work out the dynamics of two people in love while in dangerous jobs.
I still have some problems with the performance/reading of this book. Caitlyn and.Mackenzie sometimes sound like immature little girls especially if the dialog is supposed to be as if either women is excited or stressed. The high-pitched voice and rapid speech sound whiney!
Overall I really like this series though and would recommend it to everyone!

predictable

this is the first review I've done on this serious. although some people might like the wishy washy way this story reads, I do not. it is predictable to a fault, it doesn't move fluidly, I almost just gave up a couple times. I was hoping the writing would get better through the series but I'm afraid not the case.
I just have to say that Kate who at one minute is head over heels with the Sherrif, finds herself wondering if she could love a man that's got such a dangerous job, and actually ponders on that for awhile, before she realizes she's a deputy marshal and da her job is dangerous too! that was just bad writing in my opinion. I expect a person who has made it through US Marshal trading would have a lot better head on her shoulders. I will not be buying more. I originally was interested in this series because of the K9 aspect and even that is written badly.
