Masquerade is a clean, single mother romantic comedy with lots of heart. If you love tropical paradise romances, or have ever wished you could meet your celebrity crush (Henry Cavill, anyone?), you'll eat up this swoon-worthy, full-length, happily ever after romance!

Overall the story was fun and I was still rooting for the characters.
But the leading man is a bit controlling in problematic ways, like when he insists on chaperoning the leading lady during her free time at the pool (something completely unrelated to nanny job he hired her for). The leading lady’s habit of continually lying really bugged me later in the book. She finally resolves to tell him the truth that she kept covering up. But then another character convinces her to disguise herself as a different person to achieve the same goals that could have been met with a simple adult conversation. I would have expected a scheme like that from teenaged characters, but not from grown adults. Considering how each of their previous marriages blew up, one would think that another gaslighting woman and another overbearing man would be an issue for them. Instead it was played off as romantic.

The chemistry between the characters is genuine, and the slow-building romance adds a delightful charm that will leave readers smiling long after the final page.
