About this listen

Meet Max - a very special dog with a very important purpose. Here is another irresistible tale in the best-selling series for middle grade listeners adapted from The New York Times and USA Today best-selling novel A Dog's Purpose and A Dog's Journey by W. Bruce Cameron.

As soon as he sets eyes on CJ, Max knows that she's his girl and quickly figures out his purpose: to show her how to navigate the big city. Being a native New Yorker, Max knows how to take charge, even though he's the smallest dog at the park. At the same time, with CJ's help, Max learns that he doesn't always have to be ferocious - sometimes, he can be "gentle Max" and make friends.

Young fans of Ellie's Story, Bailey's Story, and Molly's Story will love Max's Story, the story of a little dog in the big city.

This is the third of Mr. Cameron‘s books that I have read. It just so happens that I adopted a dog named Max and he is very similar to the Max in this book.

My Max is very protective of me like this Max was for CJ. My Max is also one who growls at strange dogs who come around as well as strange people.

It is really neat to compare Mr. Cameron ‘s max to my max and just see all the similarities between the two dogs. My Max is also adopted and is believed to be part Cairn Terrier and Yorkie, very similar to the Max on the book’s cover!

Even after reading two other books by Mr. Cameron I often think as I look at my own dog and think of ones who have passed and wonder if they think the same way Mr. Cameron ‘s subjects do. I love his books and will continue to read the others. I

I do believe that Mr. Cameron has been Blessed with a real knack for understanding dogs and what probably goes on in their little brains.

Thank you Mr. Cameron for writing these wonderful dog books that are awesome to read and that have lots of memories for the dogs that we own now or in the past!

It’s my prayer the you will be Blessed to write even more books from the dog’s perspective!

Max is Much like my own Little Max!
