About this listen

Sorceress, Princess of Colchis, Securer of the Golden Fleece.

Medea - her very name is a byword for infamy. Legend has it that she murdered her own children for revenge.

But love in Ancient Greece was often a dangerous game; and legends are not always what they seem.

Medea, devoted wife of Jason, was also a loving mother, a loyal friend of Herakles and a brave adventurer with the Argonauts.

A woman both betrayer and betrayed, the real story of Medea is strange, sensual and heroic.

I’m a fan of Greek mythology & while I’ve read multiple versions of every myth, I’ve never heard someone claim that Hera was the protector of one of Zeus’s children, *especially* not Heracles. But I could have gotten past that if the story wasn’t such a slog! The Nauplios chapters were boring, and it’s all going on for just so long without pulling me in. I’m at the halfway point and I just can’t keep going.

Life is too short to suffer through such a boring read.

This is a really enjoyable story. Despite the fact it's based in ancient Greece, it's very human and relatable. I can't wait to read the third book in the series. Highly recommend Cassandra too.

So good

This first volume in Kerry Greenwood’s Delphic Women series is, frankly, awesome. I’ve been fascinated by Medea’s power and prowess since I was a child— this version of her story is my fave.

Medea approachable and admirable

I would never have thought that the story of Medea could be so boring. This book doesn't do the tale justice. Disappointing

Blahhh

She changed so much, the book is also titled Medea yet half is about Jason, I've read another book like it and it was good but this one is ridiculous. I'm talking severely ridiculous, they can't even pronounce a ton of names correctly which makes it difficult to listen to. This writer clearly just wanted to make up her own story about Medea and I feel like she just used Medea's name to get us to buy it.

Mispronounciation/Changed too much mythology
