A Helpful Guide

This is a helpful guide for those wishing to learn more about medical terms. Be warned though that this book reads like a class. It can be difficult to keep your attention if you don't take this into consideration. It gives information on all aspects of the words. I did enjoy listening and learning although I have nothing to do with the medical field. I requested this book as a way to see what I could learn and what I already understand. It surprised me that I knew more than I thought but no where near what a medical professional would know. This book doesn't cover all medical terms out there but it does give a good basic understanding. Just remember that this is like attending a class and you might want to take it in chapters instead all at once. There is a lot of information for processing. The narration was nicely done. Rick Paradis spoke at an easy pace with a clean, clear voice.

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Interesting subject but it was hard to listen...

I'm very interested in the medical field and volunteer at a hospital. I thought this book would be appealing to me but it was so hard to 'read'. If I was a medical student it would be perfect but I'm not. Good book. Interesting subject. Not my cup of tea.

I received this book for free in exchange for an unbiased review.

Interesting

This is an interesting basic medical terminology reference audiobook. The chapters are easy to follow. I believe that a companion document would be interesting to have with this audiobook. This audiobook can't replace a medical terminology course, but this is an interesting introduction to the subject. It has to be listened as the lessons in class, chapter by chapter, not in one sitting, because you'll be overwhelmed by all the information. The narrator has a good voice.

THANK YOU!

Thank god for this book. Incredibly helpful! I've purchased others on here, only to find they weren't in the least bit what I was looking for or what they claimed to be. Do yourself a favor and grab this one. Makes studying so much easier. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Outstanding stuff!

My wife is an emergency department scribe with ambitions to be a practitioner herself. She thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook as an invaluable resource and profoundly recommends purchasing it for your medical education collection!

Your understanding of what you read and hear is,

Your understanding of what you read and hear is, to a very large degree, determined by your vocabulary, so improve your vocabulary daily."
-- Zig Ziglar

The book is boring but useful, especially for foreigners studying in an English speaking country.

Need a really strong vocabulary for this book

The book had the right lessons with the wrong grade level words. By using diction that was so academic in the passive voice, the book came out as an academic journal article rather than an "Easy to Follow On the Go Guide" I would recommend skipping past the introductory parts and moving on to the physiologic content. There is strong content here, but you may not understand what the narrator is saying.

Great Listen!

I've had a reading and writing disability and this book has helped me to be able to understand how to remember and be able to pronounce medical words. Having an audio book on this subject is much better than a book as you hear words being said and it's more enjoyable to listen to.
