About this listen

In our lifetimes, most of us endure a number of relationships in which we struggle to define the time spent there. In each, we search to find connections to call our own, but silently as we reluctantly resist our forthcomings, so do the individuals we “commit” ourselves too. When - and if - that connection becomes disturbed or disconnected altogether, what transpires next?

For me, blame was issued that would lead to bouts with frustration, anger, and eventually hate. Rarely did I look within to find my cause to what the situation yielded - instead I focused on my “self-preservation.” Unreasonable reasonings would develop for how I defined love, imparting false wisdom and shallow character traits in my heart, which subsequently damaged each woman I uttered the word to. A few valued friendships painstakingly persisted through my stubbornness and ultimately played a significant role in helping me save what I came to value most. Ownership for refusing to face my suppressed pain gave way to guilt and empathy for the hurt I caused to others, simultaneously prompting me to tell my story in hopes of helping someone through my testimony.

Memoirs from Within re-accounts the story of how a young boy rode the waves of a single emotion and grew to become a man that purposely neglected exploration of its true meaning, until it was nearly too late…

Deep and enlightening... filled with sadness, personal growth, and ultimately a happy ending. I could see similarities in my life through his words. A great read for any man coming into his own.
