About this listen

American society has become anti-male. Men are sensing the backlash and are responding. They're dropping out of college, leaving the workforce, and avoiding marriage and fatherhood at alarming rates. The trend is so pronounced that a number of books have been written about this man-child phenomenon, concluding that men have taken a vacation from responsibility. But why should men participate in a system that seems to be increasingly stacked against them?

As Men on Strike demonstrates, men aren't dropping out because they are stuck in arrested development; they are acting rationally in response to the lack of incentives society offers them to be responsible fathers, husbands, and providers. In addition, men are going on strike, either consciously or unconsciously, because they do not want to be injured by the myriad of laws, attitudes, and hostility against them for the crime of happening to be male in the 21st century. Men are starting to fight back. Men on Strike explains their battle cry.

This book was eye opening

This book was right on time for me. There are so many pieces to the social, political and economic gender puzzle this book fills in. I will definitely be adding this to my arsenal of defense.

Excelent audiobook!

This is a must read for any man in the western world. The best part is the final chapter on how to fight back. The audio file has some flaws, but nothing major.

FACTS!

A real issue America, has allowed to plague the system, Community, family, nation, judicial system and numerous other areas in this country. The double standards, "MeToo's" has created a system which opens up doors to be used as an evil vindictive weapon towards good men by women who play victim. These women who take advantage of the situation and system have truly abused what was put in place for balance and in some cases needed protection. A lot of women are crying wolf just to demasculize men. The author presents stern facts, which must be addressed. Otherwise, marriage and family will become extinct. Then, it will be too late. The government will probably intervene and enforce marriage as a law and make premarital sex against the law. Especially, if a child is conceived from the sexual encounter. This is a very good read with issues, which needs addressing now before things truly get out of control. Sgt. Ryan Edward Strickland Retired Disabled Veteran and Author

Wow! This perspective is so needed.

As a woman- I want to live in a society where men are full participants. We all suffer when there are these societal abuses towards men. I want my young sons to have a place to contribute in this world- and not just be seen as categorically part of the female problem.

A must for men, and a should for women

I finished this in two days. Simply terrific, it points out all of the problems men and boys are facing fairly. I've had a lot of these problems myself as a divorced man and father, I wish I would have had this sooner.

Men must have this knowledge, and women should have it. The world may become a little more fair if this gains more readership.

Game changer

Great book with lots of great information. I love her approach to finding out why men don’t want to marry? She went and talked to real guys. Men at bars, gyms, online forums and she listened. I am going to have my sons and daughter listen to this book.

Every man must read

great book, great author, great narrator.

men's issues exist, just not in the feminized female imperative, female centric world, just because men don't complain like women, doesn't mean they have a ton of issues.

A nicely done book with a good positive message.

A book that not only shows how rough we men have it, (It even opened my eyes to some things I hadn't realized were potential hazards just for being male.) but it also shows and tells how the scale of the sexes got so tipped out of balance.
What I also enjoyed was that it didn't try to belittle men for only wanting to be treated like people, (I know... Perish the thought that men are actually human with feelings and hopes.) but it tells women how the scales and be tipped back to be more equal to both sexes. (If there are women out there that actually want a fair and just system that is.) It's a pitty that this book isn't read by more women. If it were, maybe our society would be a much better place to live for both sexes.
