Loved This Beautiful Holiday Story

Henry works as a night watchman at a museum in Chicago. Painfully shy and just as lonely, Henry spends his days creating beautiful paintings featuring the people he sees every day. One day, his museum receives a new painting to exhibit and Henry is captivated by the woman portrayed within. For 10 years he spends every spare moment in front of the painting, talking to her and imagining her by his side at night.

This was a well written short story, touching and sweet. Despite the fact that it was only an hour, I really felt like I knew the characters. Henry's background was developed enough to show his painful past, and show what a kind and selfless person he was. The resolution brought happy tears to my eyes. The narration was well done and it immersed me in the story. I requested a copy of the audio, and I'm voluntarily leaving a review.

Thank Goodness it was short

It was a nice Christmas story and the length made that possible. I don’t know if I’d be able to listen to a longer book of this story, especially if it’s not flushed out. I felt like the story was rushed and I lost my attention a couple of times.

A truly beautiful story exceptionally well written. Everything is so well described that people and paintings are easily visualized, and the emotions portrayed are felt by the reader. Don't miss this gem!

Quick, sweet Christmas listen

POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD

At about an hour long, Merry Christmas, Henry is a quick listen. Aubrey Wynne has created a story in which Henry, a security guard at the museum who is actually a crazy talented artist, essentially falls in love with a woman in a painting. Ten, twenty years go by, and Henry doesn't change much and is content with his woman in the painting until one magical holiday season.

Tom Jordan did a great job narrating. He has a good voice for narration and I would listen to another of his performances in the future. As for the story itself, it was short and sweet. While I would have liked to have seen a bit more depth from the story itself and the characters, it was a nice, quick listen. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher for an honest review.

A painted fantasy

This was a hauntingly romantic story of a security guard who is also a talented hidden artist who is obsessed with a painting of a woman. As the story goes on you will understand what makes him tick and when he uses his artistic skills to help the woman in the picture he will have his Christmas miracle. I received a complimentary audio and I am voluntarily giving a review.

One of the best short stories hold you spellbound

A very short listen that will take your breath away about a very talent artist who isn’t in it for the money but for the art of making beautiful art. He falls in love with a woman in a painting and become obsessed with her. This is very well thought out and put together so much so you feel the love and the pain. It is a beautiful story of true love that will touch every romance read straight to your heart. I just loved it as it brought a tear to my eye and smile to my heart.

Mr. Jordan really brings this story to life for me pulling on my heartstrings making me believe in true love that is worlds apart with many centuries between them. He really make me feel Henry’s love, his wants and needs and what drove him. I loved his character voices he really gives so much to them. You can feel the emotions in his voice. You know just what each character is feeling, you always know who is talking. There are no background noises, no volume changes and if any breaks were taken I could not tell. This story is built around Henry and the narrator knows just what it takes to make Henry and the picture he is obsessed with seem real and come to life. Mr. Jordan delivers a very clean, clear audio that you get lost in. His natural voice is just a wonderful as his character voices. It is a voice you have no trouble listening to as he brings excitement and sorrow to Henry that holds you spellbound.

I did not want it to end, I wanted to know more about Henry and his true love.

A classic little tale full of fantasy and mystique

Merry Christmas, Henry is a classic little tale full of fantasy and mystique. Tom Jordan did an excellent job narrating the tale, lending the work an authenticity that really brought the story to life for me. I felt for the protagonist in his isolation and loneliness. The story culminates on Christmas Eve with in a delightful, fanciful ending you won’t forget.
