It was amazing!

How many kids can you find that can do all Messi could do at his age?! This make me know more about the greatest soccer player of all time!

Must listen not just for Messi fans!

After the last words of the book, all I could think was: what a player, what a story, what a man! The author truly gets inside the football world with all its glory and dirt. The heartfelt narrative leads the reader through the whole emotional gamut: from the unbelievable heights to the crushing lows. This book helped me fully appreciate the incredibly complicated world of the game. Sadly, it is not enough to be the best player in the world, so many other things have to align to ensure success. This book is the fully detailed story of the evolution of an outstanding human being, not just a player; and of the extraordinary will power that is needed to rise after each fall. it will make you cry the tears of joy as well as frustration. I could not put it down. I liked the narrator and felt that Peter Kenny emphasized with the protagonist. The book ends before the WC. but I am still very grateful to Audible for making this book available. I would not be able to find the time for it in the traditional format. Also, let me confess that my obsession with messy is very recent. I was aware of him, of course, but never followed his career closely. Nor am I a football fanatic. I became fascinated with Messy only after the WC. And still I found this book absolutely riveting; it has all the elements of a great story: the emotional upheavals, the suspense ( yes, even when you know the score in advance), the villains, and, of course, the wonderful main protagonist. This book will inspire you and make you a better human being! Forget the internet snippets and get the book!

In-depth look at Lionel Messi

This is my second auidobook to listen to after "Pep Guardiola: Another Way of Winning," and just by glancing at the total running time, you know that this was going to be a well-researched material by the author.

I like how he cited multiple sources, including his own, to back claims and stories included here.

The narrator also does a good job of telling the story. He switches the mood/tone whenever needed so that he won't sound monotonous.

I'd definitely recommend this audiobook to football fans and even those who are not.

Amazing book, very poor narration

The book is a masterpiece, walking through football, emotions, history and everything in between. It explains Messi’s life and personality with great context.

However, Peter Kenny’s narration is extremely poor. First of all, the dynamics of his voice are highly monotonous, with every sentence following the exact same flow. Secondly, poor pronunciation of the many words of Spanish origin in the book make it really hard to follow the details which you might have wanted to Google.

All in all, great book, very poor choice for narrator.

Pretty good, but long

Huge Messi fan so was eager to dive into the story. It has added bits for the World Cup which is good.

Lots of interesting details but at times felt it was too wordy, or went beyond the scope of the book….like we don’t need head the full line up and subs of a game that happened in 2010 :)

Overall got a deeper look and understanding of Leo.
