About this listen

In this electrifying tenth and final installment of the award-winning, #1 New York Times bestselling Michael Vey series, the Electroclan go on a high-stakes rescue mission.

After saving Tara and Jack—and losing a few of their own—in a dramatic battle in the Peruvian jungle against the Elgen offshoot the Chasqui, the Electroclan has returned to the US to regroup. But their downtime is brief, as Abi—who was abducted from outside her college dorm—is still missing.

Piecing together what few clues they have from video footage of the abduction as well as some additional information from Grace, whose consciousness has broken free of her physical body and connected with worldwide intelligence, they determine that she is being held somewhere in Peru by the leader of a group of other electrics known as the Colony. And so—once again joining forced with Alpha Team for a dual-pronged attack—they return to South America for a rescue mission.

They’ve fought—and won—against incredible odds before. But they’ve never had to face off against others with powers similar to—and potentially stronger—than their own. Still, with the life of one of the Electroclan members at stake, failure is simply not an option as they take on their final mission.

YES! what a series!

I am so happy that I remembered this series existed. I read the first book in elementary school, and I loved it so much that I asked my teacher for the second one. but she didn't have it! I suspect it's because it gets so much more intense as the series goes on.

To anyone that is reading this comment, the entire series is fantasticly written, and the characters are all great.

of course they shouldn't have changed the narrator for books three and four, and I will recommend my friends just read those two. Fred Berman, you nailed it, and I loved your Austin voice. He was my favorite. really great job on all the accents, and the effort was appreciated and noticed.

thank you for an incredible 10 book series!

Felt the passion

This final book is so much better then the last three books. I didn't enjoy the last three books they felt like they lacked passion but this book brought back my love for the series it felt like the first book all over again if felt like the passion was back into his writing this was a great way to end the series. Only downside is that the ending felt a little too rushed but overall this book was great

An okay Ending

I am a huge fan of the Micheal Vey series. I started it when I was in school still, and continued it even as an adult. I've always loved this series, and have looked forward to any new signs of a continuation. The author's story and the voice actor's performance have always been something I've been a fan of as well. Listening to and knowing in my mind how well written the stories have been have been incredibly satisfying. I usually listen to the books on repeat on long shifts at my work.

But this last book, felt lacking. In all honesty, it felt rushed. The first book of this second series was long, a bit blunt at times with details but nothing out of the usual with the author's style of writing. The second and third (this one, the last)... it just felt incredibly rushed. It saddens me to say I did not get the rich story telling details I was used to in the first series.

A lot of reviews I read before listening to it myself were saying things like " No loose ends, an Incredible end to such a beloved series" and things like that but when I listened to it myself knowing these reviews I was shocked to know its simply not true.

SPOILER WARNING DONT READ AHEAD IF YOU DONT WANT SPOILERS!!

There was many loose ends. I pay attention to these details, because I cared very much about the characters and what happened to them in the story overall. A few examples are:

- After Tessa died, it mentioned her having a dog. It was never mentioned if one of the other members of the Electroclan took it in after her passing.

- It was also mentioned that Torstyn had feelings for Tessa and cared for her, but in the last book when the Electroclan finally meet him again none of them told him at any point about Tessa being murdered. Not even at the end.

-Former E.G.G Welch had a Tiwanese Lover mentioned in the previous series, and it was not confirmed if she was alive or if he even got back to her like he promised he would. It did mention at the end of the previous series that he was alive and even mentored Jack some in security. But in this series there still wasn't any updates on this information.

-The Amacara Tribe wasn't told about Tessa's death and they were not really mentioned or contacted much in the last book. They were her family at one time, and personally I felt that they should have been mentioned regarding this subject. They had a funeral for Tessa in the story but didn't mention her adoptive family or her beloved dog left at her house where she lived.

-Zeus wasn't really mentioned much at the end of the book, in regards to how his life was going after their last mission had ended. I don't recall them mentioning that, or how he was doing with himself and his grief after Tessa's passing now that all the danger was gone. He wasn't doing well initially after her death, but it also wasn't mentioned how he was doing after everything was settled down.

-The remaining parents of the Electroclan aren't really mentioned much at the end of the book. There was many weddings but not much mentioned about all their parents. The Parents, Adoptive Families and close friends all played huge parts in the series as a whole. Not tieing up these loose ends really left me feeling personally that this story was just rushed in some way.

I love this series, but these loose ends really left me sad with the ending. It was ok in my opinion, but I do not think it is deserving of " The best ending" titles that fellow fans are leaving it. I saw all this with a heavy heart, because I really love this series. But the details matter.

*Side Note: (not a quality or performance issue, just a personal dislike on my end)
Personally, the whole Cassy-Taylor-Micheal love triangle thing i did not like at all. Cassy keeping trying to do things with Micheal knowing he was taken, and Michael letting her do these things because he secretly had feelings for her too was stupid. And in the previous book it mentioned he had feelings for Tessa too, But the fact remains that he has been with Taylor the whole time sooooo why all this weird " kissing in the closet" garbage? And Taylor just being like " I am upset but I understand why you did it" things its just too much and i feel like it's unrealistic in that regards. I know relationships can be complicated and that it's a story and stories have this kind of drama for well, the story. But personally i didn't like the whole Cassy thing, It was not ok.
