Publisher's summary

A rich woman boards a taxi-cab on a night in the big city. When they arrive at her destination, the driver discovers the woman gone, a suitcase and a male corpse...This is a perfect case for Detective David Carroll; brilliant and somewhat eccentric. As a matter of fact, the same two words could be said about this effective and suspenseful detective yarn by Octavus Roy Cohen!

Octavus Roy Cohen (1891-1959), was a prolific and multi-talented American author who worked in several different genres. He wrote novels, film and television scripts, and Broadway plays.
