Publisher's summary

Lord Devlin White, Duke of Winterbourne, is the last in a long line of powerful witches who assist the Demon Lord of London in keeping control of the nightwalkers living amongst normal men. With all but one of his siblings gone to the new American colonies and his proud family line all but ended, Devlin is kept from gloom and despair only by his unusual ward, Midnight. Neither alive nor dead, sustained by magic and a bond to Devlin, and confined to the night, Midnight is happy to spend his life by Devlin's side - though he longs for the day that Devlin sees him as more than a ward. But the powerful magic that raised him from the dead is desperately sought by someone who will stop at nothing to obtain the secret of Midnight that Devlin would die to protect....

Best of the series!

This has always been my favorite of the series so I was very happy to see the audio book finally come out. The narrator does an excellent job and really enhances an already great story. Very well done. You won't be disappointed!

Hard to follow

Memory flashbacks are often difficult to track even when well narrated. The complicated history of both key characters us given in flashbacks at random intervals.

love it

Easily the most listened to audiobook I own. Midnight and Devlin are my favourite of all of Megan Derr's characters although Chris and Lord Sable Brennus come a close second.
If you enjoy the Dance with the Devil series you will certainly enjoy this book.
Cameron Jake also makes a nice change from her usual narrator Paul Morey. That's not to say he isn't good, I enjoy him just as much however Cameron's accent is much better suited to the England setting of this story.
Definitely a book worth buying.

Excellent 3rd book in this series!

At first I was slightly upset that the fabulous Paul Morey did not narrate this book also, but once I realized that an English accent was required for this installment, I was simply blown away by Mr. Jake's performance. Excellent range of voices and the perfect cadence for all the MC's and supporting characters. Well done to you both, Ms. Derr and Mr. Jake.

Enjoyable

I enjoyed this one quite a bit. I liked the linear storyline and how they switched between characters. I really enjoyed Midnights character, though it makes me realize I need to read up on draugers because I keep hearing about them, but have no idea what they are. I feel like I saw improvement in her writing overall, and I'll happily skip right along to the next one.

Gobbledygook

What was most disappointing about Megan Derr’s story?

Instead of world building Megan Derr achieved deconstruction of the world without creating anything to replace what was taken away. Instead she used all sorts of gobbledygook she made up that had no basis folktales or modern paranormal literature. There story is entirely void of substance, I found it entirely unmemorable and actually boring.

Any additional comments?

Megan Derr's book Dance with the Devil on the other hand is lots of fun and a true gem I rate with five stars and recommend..
