Karan and Nina have kept things simple just to hook up and have fun. No strings attached. Their plans go out of the window when Nina gets pregnant unexpectedly. Karan never thought about getting married, but with a child on the way, he might as well propose to Nina for the unborn child's sake. When he gets on his knees, she says no. The two navigate their way into parenthood alongside friends and family who are perfect parents. More perfect than they ever could be. Will Karan and Nina find love among all the craziness of parenthood? Will their cultural conflicts in raising a child hinder their way to a happy ever after?
Join the fun by listening to this hilarious interracial romantic comedy about pregnancy and parenting. A wild roller coaster that navigates through love, kids, and life.

The premise of the book is interesting. Two people, Karan and Nina, met through friends and began hooking up whenever Karan would come into town. Their relationship is purely sexual, they both agreed to no strings attached. Until Nina becomes pregnant. Karan does what he thinks is right and proposes even though he doesn't want to get married. Nina, not wanting to get married either, tells him no. So, they decide to be co-parents but not a couple.
The book deals with the racial and cultural impact of pregnancy and marriage on the family dynamic, which is HUGE in this book, and is told through Neil's voice, who is a friend to Nina and brother-in-law to Karan. I believe the author chose Neil as the narrator to tie in previous stories so that this book could either be a standalone read or continue as part of the series.
I had a hard time getting into this book because of the narration. There are way too many characters mentioned to keep track of and the narrator sounds as if he is literally just reading the words in front of him. The voice is soft spoken and there is not enough emotion in his voice as he portrays the various characters.
I'm sure the book version is much better. The storyline is compelling and will make you feel all the emotions. The end was something I did not see coming so that's a plus. I just couldn't "feel" the emotion of the narrator throughout.
