I didn’t hate Dex Truitt. Not really. But I didn’t need him rubbing his happiness in my face either. Each character has flaws that Desiree pulls out and shines a spotlight on, only to provide a deeper understanding as to why those flaws are there in the first place.

This writing, of an unexpected romantic couple finding their other half, is anything but typical. We get to dig through layers of meaning, emotions, expectations, and eventually agreements, as Caroline and Ash’s combustible energy create an explosive story.

I loved reading about them, and now listening. I have loved every story that I had read by this amazing author!

After Dex Truitt finds happiness with someone else and dumps his occasional bed partner, Carolyn, she leaves town. Carolyn is much more than a spoiled, rich, society woman. She is out there making a way for herself away from her family. She meets Ash while getting mugged when out on a jog. She starts a new job and guess who is her new boss. Neither knows that the other knows Dex. There were some funny moments in this book. This was a nice addition to the Hero Club books. Troy Duran and Summer Roberts did a great job with the narration.
