About this listen

A star athlete crosses the line from passion into obsession in this darkly addictive hockey-romance novel from USA Today-bestselling author C.R. Jane.

“Give me a second chance, babe . . . and I’ll blow your mind.”

Monroe doesn’t know why she answers the text that’s obviously meant for someone else. Or why she keeps answering. Maybe it’s because she’s all alone in a big city and in desperate need of a lifeline. Or maybe it’s because each exchange leaves her intrigued and more than a little turned on.

Still, Monroe never would’ve snarked back if she’d known she was talking to the “Golden Boy” of the Dallas Knights. She couldn’t care less about Lincoln Daniels’ hockey-god status, and this only seems to attract him more. He’s used to scoring on and off the ice, and now he’s obsessed with his next goal: making Monroe his—no matter what it takes.

“Intense” doesn’t begin to cover the way Lincoln pursues her. But despite the red flags, Monroe starts to crave the way he makes her feel really, truly wanted . . . Maybe Mr. Wrong Number is actually Mr. Right.

Not my cup of tea.

Okay let me start by saying that to others this may be exactly what they enjoy but it wasn’t mine. Narrators were great. I looovveeee Troy Duran. With that being said here’s the need to know. The plot was lacking substance and for it to be lacking so much, this book was way dragged out. The build ups were good but when the “shoe dropped” it was kinda like “oh well that’s anticlimactic “. The plot twist was just was kinda expected and honestly ruined the story . This book gave stalker Lifetime movie vibes with an odd HEA. The spicy was okay but not memorable. The spicy could have been loads better. This was not worth my purchase or a credit. This did not live up to the hype for me.

What in the world…

I certainly hope no young, impressionable people read this and misunderstand it to be a story of love. This is a story of two very ill people who desperately need therapy and a helluva lot of it.

The level of crazy!

Link and Munro are so good together.
The amount of red flags I love in this book are just next level.
And the narration is so good. Troy Duran does him so well!
I am IN LOVE with the possessive nature of this book!

A bit too far fetched

I was all in up until I wasn’t. I’m all for morally gray men, but when it gets to a certain point that I have secondhand embarrassment for the book, it’s too much. Great narrators, just too much of the story

I hate the female narrator

I’m so disappointed in the audio!
Troy Duran did an amazing job like always but this new female narrator it’s painfully to listen to, that it’s kind of ruining the experience.

I love Lincolns brand of crazy!

*****I listened to this book on audiobook. The narrators are Alexis Paige and Troy Duran.

This is book 1 in the Pucking Wrong Series. Each book is a standalone in an interconnected world. You can read each story as a standalone but you will see others from previous books in this series. Those interactions could lead to spoilers, so be aware of that.

The story follows Monroe and Lincoln. Monroe comes from a very difficult background and struggles to make ends meat. She is a hard worker who only wants to make herself better and she does this by working two jobs and going to school at night. Lincoln is the Hockey star, bad boy who has a new girl on his arm and in his bed every night...Until he sends Monroe a text by mistake and instantly falls for her. Can two people who come from very different backgrounds, make it in such a high profile life?

First, let me say that this story isn't the sweet hockey romance you might think it is. There are very dark themes in this book and I recommend doing your research before diving in. Having said that, I truly enjoyed this story. The chemistry is off the charts with these 2 and they both have very tragic back stories that make them understand some of their emotional damage that each one has. Sometimes I found that Lincoln could be a bit over bearing and a bit psycho at times when it came to his girl and the ending was a bit much but I still really liked the story and the narrators truly brought an extra level to the story. If you love a hero who falls first and a very OTT, possessive boyfriend, than Lincoln is your man and the lovely HEA is your story!
