About this listen

You can always run, but he will find you...

Alaska

I lie to one of the city's most ruthless men—and it feels so good. Deception is a drug, and I'm quickly becoming an addict. Each time we speak, Zuko has no idea it's me. The lie tastes sweet leaving my mouth. I couldn't stop now, even if I wanted to—which I don't.

He thinks our conversations are more than just sex. He's wrong. The intimacy he feels is all a facade. Until the day an embodiment of my darkest fantasies walks into my bar, and his unmistakable voice sends a shiver down my spine.

It turns out I'm not the one in control. But when he calls tonight, and he will, I'll be ready… with a lie.

Zuko

My job is to hunt. Dispose of problems like they never existed. And I'm incredibly good at my job. It's brutal and violent. But, then again, so I am. I crave destruction. Death is merely a consequence of my dark pursuits. And I won't lose a wink of sleep over it, either.

Nothing bothers me. No one affects me. Except the vixen with the lilac hair. When I reveal my true self to her, she laughs it off, enticed by the game we play.

She's keeping secrets. And I know all about prying information out of people. She won't like my methods. But I'll keep playing her little game until I decide what to do about her.

I can't tell if she is destined to be my wife… or my next victim.

Moments of Malevolence is an all-new standalone enemies-to-lovers romance with serial killers and hidden identities, where the villain always gets the girl even if she sets his house on fire.

Characters.

The main characters I found them funny. Not in like a funny bad way but good way. Zuko, such a knows what he wants kind of guy, he’s so funny. One part was like he was giving her something and she freaked out. He just bluntly gave it to her 😅 and the way he just. I kill people. Not a care in the world what people or anyone who knows him might think of him. I liked his characteristics. I enjoyed the audible book. I always love the duo narrators. It makes the audible book more enjoyable.

Best Audio Book of 2023

I 1000% love everything about this book between the two main characters the storyline the fact that they have such a funny witty back-and-forth banter between them, spice between them between you know everything there’s a little bit of sexual tension there is spice and then there’s you know a little bit of violence with the main character and some other characters and you know it’s just all around funny book. There was not a moment where I was not laughing gasping about some I was laughing about what happened I was gasping at some of the spice there was just absolutely everything that you wanted and it was just wholeheartedly a great book and I cannot wait to read books 2 and three and sorry listen to books 2 and three And I am just on the edge of my seat waiting for the next one. I cannot wait for January 16 so that I can listen to it. I was telling my husband I can’t talk right now I’m waiting. I’ve got an hour left on my book, go away, because I wanted to finish my book

Gaps

Parts of it were contradicting but it was a good book. Definitely needed more, it felt like more of an overview of a really cool story. I enjoyed it though

Loved the story

I loved the storyline and the male voice actor but I can't stand the female's voice. There is no acting, just reading and so robotic. I just had to switch to reading it because I couldn't stand listening to her.

Narration can hurt a book

The female narrator was tough to listen to. Someone mentioned it above and said she’s a home sex operator she should have a sultry seductive voice but it’s just whiny. Honestly would have been better if the male character just voiced the female as well. There wasn’t much of a story or plot but over all okay listen. This probably will have to be a re-read of the actual book.

Decent

The story was good, I feel as though I would have enjoyed it more reading the book because the female narrator was hard to listen to. I felt like every sentence was a question.

if not for Corvin

so I loved the story. I read as I listened but I usually don't like dual narration I prefer duets but for this book thank goodness I only got to hear Corvin. even though I think his voice isn't suited for dark MMC ...its still smooth and I like to hear it... as for the female narration... 1st time hearing it and ...um it sounded like robotic or siri or Alexa. ..which I think their voice sound more smoother. .idk.. im sorry but for me it was hard to listen to ... her alternative pitches were better... like when she spoke for Louisa .. overall why i rate it so low ...she's supposed to be a phone s3x worker and um her voice is. .. harsh
