Publisher's summary

Alfie has never liked bananas very much, and he has never been very good at climbing trees - but all of that changes one day when he eats a very special peanut butter and banana sandwich for lunch. Suddenly bananas are Alfie's favorite food, and his arms feel strong and springy - like he could climb any tree in the whole wide world....

Before long, Alfie finds that his kitchen has transformed into a lush tropical jungle filled with some unexpected new friends - monkeys! As Alfie spends time with his new friends, he learns that monkeys are extremely hardworking, and that there are a lot of jobs that a monkey does better than anybody else. For instance, nobody picks coconuts from the tops of the twirly-whirly trees faster than a monkey. Nobody paints a house faster, either. And of course, nobody is more qualified to test out a new set of monkey bars than a monkey himself. To top it all off, nobody else will do the work for the very fair price of just a few ripe bananas.

But monkeys have one other extra special skill, a skill so amazing that you have to see it to believe it. So, when Alfie and his furry friends see a flyer for an "Amazing Feats Contest" they know just what to do. Will it be enough to win the contest and earn the prize? Join Alfie in his next Sandwich Series adventure and find out!

Imaginative, clever story in a charming voice

This is the second book of this series that I bought. Audible books are a great way for children to enjoy a story when it's not possible for someone to be reading to them, like in a car or while waiting for an appointment. In this book,
Alfie meets a monkey named Stanley and goes on lots of adventures, performing lots of jobs that monkeys might do. The voice of the author is charming, warm and sweet--really perfect for reading a child's book and it makes the story come to life in such a nice way. It made my child feel like she knows the author and created a bond that I hadn't expected. I definitely recommend this series and look forward to more Alfie stories.
