About this listen
After the tragic events of MONSTYR, Nick and Epi moved a thousand miles away to Epi's childhood home. They thought they'd be safe to start a family and care for her ailing mother.
They were wrong.
Very wrong.
Thankfully, they have help from new friends but also government agents who have their own priorities, and Nick and Epi's safety isn't one of them.
Can they escape the creature, yet again, or will their luck finally run out?

Tensions are running high aboard The Camelot, a deep-space exploration vessel. Spending an extended amount of time in close quarters has left most of the crew at each other’s throats, and put their veteran captain in the position of constantly playing peacemaker. As bad as things are, they get markedly worse when The Camelot unknowingly picks up a stowaway: a shapeshifting alien monster who boards their ship and begins killing the crew one by one.

Story
The cost of my transformation is greater than I could have imagined. A cataclysmic upheaval shakes the foundation of my entire family, threatening to tear us apart. The toll nearly claims my beloved husband's life, pushing the boundaries of our endurance to their very limits. Unfortunately, I cannot escape this ethereal web of fate. Thrust into a role I never asked for, I have no choice but to evolve until I become a guardian of relics. I will carry the weight of ancient powers and hidden truths like a sentinel in a world teetering on the precipice of chaos, or I will perish while trying.

Our nation currently suffers the consequences of the 2020 election. The criminally installed cronies, with their toxic atmosphere, are dead set against building upon the prior administration’s advancements and is in fact proceeding in the opposite direction with reckless abandon. The negative governances are far worse than what we had feared and what we had long been warned about. Without question, there is a coup underway—one which aims to overthrow our once mighty America that so many have sacrificed their lives for.

Story
Two little girls stand with their heads bowed in my living room. I’m told they’re my granddaughters. Daisy is nine, and Alice seven. Daisy is the spitting image of her mother. This is the first time I’ve met them since my daughter and I fell out after she married that waste of space, Vince. They’ve come to live with me because their mother — my daughter — was murdered. In her own home while they slept close by. I think Vince killed her. But the police can’t prove it. I’ve always known he was no good. He treated my daughter like dirt. I said he’d cheat on her — but she wouldn’t listen.

Who is Audrey Hoedemaker? It's a question her sister Maureen has heard more times than she can count, and she doesn't know what the short answer would be. Little sister, troubled teen, backpacker, musical theatre coach, con artist, childcare worker. Murderer. A tragic, traumatic childhood casts a long shadow on the Hoedemaker sisters. Maureen has worked hard to move beyond the violence of the past and build a good, honest life for herself. Audrey, however, just can't seem to do the same, careening from one state of chaos to another.

Lucas knows the perfect night entails just three things: video games, wine, and pad thai. Peanuts are a must! Other people? Not so much. Why complicate things when he’s happy alone? Then one day the apartment board, a vexing trio of authority, rings his doorbell. And Lucas’s solitude takes a startling hike. They demand to see his frying pan. Someone left one next to the recycling room overnight, and instead of removing the errant object, as Lucas suggests, they insist on finding the guilty party. But their plan backfires. Colossally.

Another fun ride!
My wife and I listened to the entire book on a road trip to the UP (Michigan). We laughed and were freaked out and couldn't stop listening. Bathroom breaks were the only times we paused. Such a great story with relatable and cool characters.
I love this series and this book is as good as the first book! (plus I love learning about their story after what they went through in the first book)
Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
