About this listen

Former Special Forces soldier Hank Fleming survived an explosion that took the lives of four men during a tour in Afghanistan. Nightmares resurrect the dreadful sights, smells, and sounds of the dying men. Despite profound injuries and post-traumatic stress, Hank hopes he can one day be free of inner turmoil...and maybe find a girl who will want to share a life with him.

When Cindy Giordano breaks up with an unfaithful fiancé, she vows to never get involved with another man. She sets out on a quest to find Edward, a biological brother she’s never met, and her journey brings her face-to-face with Edward’s rugged, outdoorsy foster brother, Hank Fleming. Hank captures her attention, but she’s determined not to fall for him.

Hank is instantly smitten with Edward’s tall and beautiful, albeit slightly clumsy sister, but does he have what it takes to win her heart and help her past the pain of betrayal? Moreover, can he resolve the haunting issues in his own life and find lasting peace?

More than a Soldier!

This is the first story by this author I have read or rather listened to. It is the second story in the "Forever a Soldier" series and a stand alone read. The story is sweet, touching, inspirational with a crazy stalked ex and some suspense. It is a clean romance about Hank and Cindy. He was in the Special Forces until an injury ended his military service. Cindy has called things off with her cheating ex and now trying to see the positive in life. Cindy, with her sweet older neighbors encouragement, tries to find her long lost brother. She finds her brother during a family get together at his parents house. Her brother, like Cindy and Hank, were all adopted but by different families. Hank and her brother became family. When she finds her brother she meets his brother Hank. This is the beginning of a lovely heartfelt story with some excitement, danger and drama along the way. I love the characters. Hank is a wonderful man and has overcome what happened to him. He is very patient with Cindy. I think the narrator did a good job with the characters and the story.

Hank

Cindy finds out her boyfriend was cheating on her. She channels all her energies into finding her brother, whom she has never meet. (adoption). She tracks down Edward, and meets his friend Hank. Cindy and Hank are drawn to each other. Both work to get past their personal histories, so they can be together. The story is well written and engaging. The characters are interesting and relatable. The narration was well done. I received a free copy of this audiobook and am voluntarily leaving my review.

Sweet and Clean Romance, with a little suspense

This is the second book in the Forever Soldier Series. Hank and Cindy’s story is beautifully written, emotional, and heartwarming, filled with drama, and suspense. Hank is handsome, protective and supportive. He is a former Special Forces soldier. He survived a traumatic event during a tour in Afghanistan. Cindy is Edward’s sister (from A Soldier Finds His Way). She is beautiful and strong. The storyline is entertaining. The supporting characters are amazing. This is a sweet and clean romance. Tanner De Bruyne did a great job with the narration. I enjoyed it.

Very clean contemporary romance with some suspense

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to More Than a Soldier. It is a very clean contemporary romance, but it has some suspense that kept me intrigued. Cindy goes in search of her long lost brother. She meets a great group of people when she finds him. The characters in this series have a lot of baggage. Cindy’s last boyfriend cheated in her. She is still traumatized, and she is not ready for a new relationship. Unfortunately her ex is determined to mess with her life and make her miserable. Hank is a great friend. She could develop feelings for him, but she is still scared to start anything. Can she open her heart and accept Hank and accept his feelings?
