About this listen

She’s hard up. He’s just hard.... After an ill-fated one-night stand, Wyatt Landry was the last person I ever expected to see again. By design, mind you, as I spent the last two years avoiding him. He was only ever meant to be a good time - a really good time - and now, thanks to one teensy little mistake, he’s back in my life and wielding an entirely different set of tools.

It’s not like I intentionally hired a bogus contractor to redo our chapel, and Lord knows I never imagined Wyatt would ride up in his pickup truck, like a knight in thigh-hugging blue jeans, to save the day. But here he is, and to make matters worse, he’s every bit as charming as I remember, and before I can fully process his reappearance in my life, he has my six-year-old daughter wrapped around his finger, my parents eating out of the palm of his hand, and my best friend shipping us like we’re some celebrity couple.

Thankfully, working in the death industry, I’ve mastered the skill of compartmentalization. Keeping my growing feelings tucked away should be a piece of cake. Except, seeing him every day definitely throws a wrench in that plan. Before I know it, we’re trading favors for dates, and as much I don’t want to admit it, the feelings for him I thought were dead and buried are taking root and growing into something that looks a lot like love. Daigle Family Funeral Services...don’t be caught dead any place else.

So glad I ignored the title ….

I almost didn’t get this because I didn’t like the title or the quip beneath it. But I heart eyes Joe Arden’s voice it’s so soothing and easy to listen to plus the reviews we’re raving. And rightly so. This was cute!!! It was funny!!! It was special!!! I laughed I cried I swooned. I added it to my favorites library because I’ll be reading this again!!! Don’t let the title turn you off this worthy story.

Great read!

Loved this book! I loved the relationship that Wyatt developed with Whitney’s daughter, Prissy! The relationship between Prissy and Wyatt’s dog is even better. The Father-Daughter dance scene, was by far one of my favorites!

got this for Joe arden. at first I was scared I was going to hate it bc the FMC started out annoying. she was a jerk and childish. thank God it didn't last long at all. then it was hilarious and sweet. so glad I listened to this one. both narrators were freaking amazing!

I need a Wyatt

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!! This is one of my favorite books of the year. I kept hearing so many good things about it. Prissy is absolutely one of the best children characters ever. She reminded me of my own daughter when she was younger.
As a single mom, I can verify that Wyatt is what we’re all dreaming about. He is completely swoony. I could relate to Whitney and her fears of getting too close. I did the audio, and it was fantastic.

What a Wonderful Story About Unexpectedly Finding

I really enjoyed listening to Mourning Wood, written by Heather M. Orgeron, and narrated by Joe Arden and Vanessa Edwin. It's a very sweet story about a 22 year old woman who unexpectedly runs into a young man that she hooked up with 2 years earlier, and despite her embarrassment, she is clearly still attracted to him. The book is sweet, funny, and sad at times but is an entertaining romance novel. The narration is wonderful, too. I loved listening to this novel!

Fun!

It’s love at first sight for Wyatt when he takes a carpentry job at the funeral home Whitney owns. It’s a little more complicated for Whitney, with a precocious child and bodies piling up that don’t wait for a convenient time. But love prevails, of course!
I’m so impressed with Vanessa Edwin’s narration of this book. Her range is fantastic! And it goes without saying that Joe Arden knocks it out of the park. This was a fun audiobook!
