Good book if you’re unfamiliar with all of Mets history

I’m a relatively new Mets fan (2006/7) so I didn’t know a lot of the early information in this book. I found it interesting, but I don’t know how interesting it would be for someone who is more familiar with Mets history than I am. I also really, really didn’t like Barry Abrams’ performance. I found it off putting and at times very annoying to listen to. If I wasn’t so interested in the content, I would’ve stopped listening. In fact, I came close!

Meh

I don’t like when the narrator tries to take on voice characteristics of various known individuals. Especially when it’s persons of color.

A must read fir Mets fans

You’ve probably heard his name numerous times over the past 40 plus years. Now listen to how he began his journey and his relationships with players and staff. He’s one of a kind! Cheers to Jay!

Wonderful

As a life long Mets fan I was familiar with who Jay was but it was an absolute delight to not only hear the story of the Mets over the last 40 years but to lean about who Jay was and what brought to that AMAZING organization. This book is perfectly titles as he truly is Mr Met!

Lightweight

I expected more humor and deeper insights. Many sections were uninteresting and other parts well know to Mets fans. The later chapters about more recent managers and the 9/11 were the most interesting. I did not care for the narrator's voice.

Disappointed

As an avid Mets fan I was really looking forward to this book but finished it feeling dissatisfied. Over half the book is quotes from other baseball personalities just praising the author. I didn’t expect a tell all but I did expect interesting stories from someone who spent a long and great career inside the clubhouse. Instead there is not a single story in this book that wasn’t a front page headline and part of the general knowledge of any Mets fan. I hate to give this a poor review but it was really a disappointment.
