About this listen

Rule #1: Do not vote for Mr. Popular.
Rule #2: Do not talk to Mr. Popular.
Rule #3: (Most importantly, and above all) Do not fall for Mr. Popular....

Liam "Mr. Popular" Carter will always be the closest thing to the "walking plague" in my eyes. His cockiness seeps through his every move, and no matter how many state championships he wins with the basketball team, he will forever be a "loss" to me.

Because he's my older brother's best friend, I'm forced to tolerate him, and he's forced to tolerate me. In fact, unless my brother is around, we happily ignore each other every chance we get.

It wasn't always this way, though....

Several summers ago, we both attended the same summer camp. A place we returned to year after year. We became friends - close friends, but right when I thought he could possibly turn into my everything, he made it clear that what we had was nothing.

Now that's he's a senior, and I only have to deal with him for one more year, I've vowed to keep repeating the same set of rules to myself. Especially since he seems so hell-bent on wanting to talk to me for some reason, and especially since he seems to be staring at me every time we're in the same room together....

Rule #4: Always follow rules #1-3....
Rule #5: (OMG what the hell are you doing?) Do not kiss Mr. Popular....

Okay as a filler book

If you like a story where all you want to do is throttle the main female character, then this book is for you. She is absolutely obnoxious and annoying. Not sure how anyone is actually interested in her. It was a painful listen, but I did get through it

Cute and quick read

This was a good brother's best friend romance. Liam is a cutie and I liked that he had morals and didn't sleep around with all the girls in school like his best friend did. He and Mariah have a long, complicated history and I felt bad for her that things kept happening to make it seem like Liam didn't care about her and he did a poor job of explaining the truth. When they were together, I liked that he didn't push her into anything and let her guide what happened.
The story was cute and fairly well paced. I didn't love the male narrator's voice when he did other people besides Liam, but it was a quick audio.

Romantic and Funny

I wish it was a series. And the ending is too fast. But I think it’s a good story.

Popular Story......

Loved the story that develops between the two main characters. Tge snarky come backs and the way the hero Laim knows Mariah so well. Its about love that grows over years until the truth about feeling reach a boiling point and an explosion of reactions happen.

Cute

It was a cute listen! Was a little slow. But good.

Not a big fan of the mail narrative but love Laurie Winkel so that helped!

just ok

the story was good. The Male narrator was unbearable. I wish the female narrator would've read the whole book.

Nope.....just nope

Couldn’t do it. Made it to Chapter 12 & then gave up. The narrators are awful. I could maybe tolerate the female narrator, but the guy was just beyond bad. I don’t know why he though every voice, even male, sounding like a ditzy bimbo was a good idea. It wasn’t. Not to mention that the ages were off. Should’ve made the characters at least college-age to be remotely believable. Mariah had ZERO redeeming qualities as a heroine.
