Publisher's summary

The eccentric Olive Kettering swore someone was trying to harm her. Too bad no one listened, though plenty wanted her dead. When Olive is shot and killed, Mrs. Jeffries has no problem speaking her mind to see justice served.

What a wonderful Series!

I ran out of Marion Chesney and M.C. Beaton books to read and was feeling a bit lost until I stumbled across Mrs. Jeffries. Listening to the characters book after book has made me form a bond to the series and the unlikely family that has formed between the characters.

I look forward visiting this time set in Victorian London that allows me to revel in history and indulge in ponder the nuances of human nature and societal norms as told through a removed era from my own for perspective. Adding in murder, gossip, and a cozy kitchen for tea and sleuthing is a welcomed bonus!

I like the stories but...

This narrators high pitched voice for Wiggins and Betsy turns me off. Wiggins sounds like a little boy instead of a 20 something and Betsy sounds like a screaming shrew. the story on a whole is really good. the narration....meh.

Very clean and enjoyable

It’s so nice to find murder mysteries stories without swearing or sex. Very well written and clear voices for characters

Other than a screech owl it was good

I wince whenever Wiggins has to talk. Why does he need that high pitched squeal when he’s well into his twenties. How I wish the books that I love didn’t make me cringe.

Always a Great Story, Poor voice choice by reader

I've listened to all the Mrs. Jeffries books. When Jennifer M Dixon became the reader they declined in listening quality. The voice for Wiggins is that of a screechy 12/13 year old boy, not a young man of 22 or so. Betsy's voice too has a screechy quality. Easy to change - please do.

Jennifer M Dixon narrator ruins narration

This narrator, who is a most excellent and long loved voice artist, has unfortunately chosen to represent youthful character voices with screeching, high pitched or whiney, ear piercing vocal range. Very unpleasant and unfortunate. Ruins this decent, long run cozy mystery series
