This book had me not wanting to put it down. I loved it. Although the main female character was at times to me a drama queen, I still liked her. It has so many twists and turns you're never to sure who done it, till the very end! very good. looking forward to seeing the next book if there is one.

This one was really good! At the start, you really wanted to like the main character, but the facts appeared to be stacked against her! There were so many twists and turns, that no sooner had you clarified your missions and thoughts of the main character and the other characters, everything was different! But the twists and changes did not appear contrived and unnatural. It's all a very involved and complicated story, and not only did the author keep the reader gassing, but the author kept the reader interested and anxious and ready to hear the end – even when the end was still three hours away. But all three of those hours worth it and I loved the book :-)
And it's the first of, so far, three with the same detective. I'm looking forward to more!

I really enjoyed this book. I was looking for a book in the romance package that wasn’t the same old story and over quickly. I love Piper Goodeve and came across this book. The story had substance, the characters were well developed, and the length of the book allowed for the plot to unfold with depth. On to book 2!

I don't usually like Romantic Mysteries but this was good. Narration was good and so was the story. The ending could have been a little better with a little more explanation.

My Wife and I have enjoyed several Murder mystery/romance novels. This wasn't one of them. Everything felt jumbled and unorganized; the ending seemed like it was pieced together and made almost zero logical sense. It was really hard to enjoy the book at all when everything jumped around and felt like the author couldn't get their thoughts down in a coherent manner. Just pick another mystery and steer clear of this one.

I stay out of writing any reviews because I don't consider myself as a critic. But this book really provoked me to start typing. The story line is OK. There are many twists and turns. The performance of Piper Goodeve really saved the mediocre wording the author chose to describe some scenes. OMG, some phrases were just as if a teenager girl would write in her diary, That was the only turn off. I would not recommend this book, as I consider it a waste of a credit, but since I got it as a part of an Escape membership - it was OK. I don't think I would read anymore books of this particular author. However, I would listen to other books performed by Ms. Peper Goodeve.
