About this listen

Theirs was a marriage made in tabloid heaven, but no sooner had supermodel Laura Ayars and Celtics star David Baskin said “I do” than tragedy struck. While honeymooning on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, David went out for a swim - and never returned.

Now widowed and grieving, Laura has a thousand questions and no answers. Her search for the truth will draw her into a web of lies and deception that stretches back 30 years - while on the court at the Boston Garden, a rookie phenom makes his spectacular debut....

Excellent story

It’s hard to believe that Mr. Colburn wrote this in his 20s. It’s such an excellent story. However orphan X
is got to be the all-time best. And I love the narrater by Scott brick

So many twists and turns

I'm thinking this may be my favorite Harlan Coben. The twists and turns keep coming. Kept me guessing till the end. A very satisfying ending.

Spellbounding!

Many twists and turns not knowing what or who until the very end. Couldn't put it down.

Not bad, Not fantastic.

I appreciated the disclosure at the beginning of the book. I still found the story to be interesting with well developed characters and a good story line. I was able to guess a few things. I was wrong about a few things and was happy with the ending. At times it drags on a bit and at times it seems to repeat itself a bit. Overall though I enjoyed it. Without the disclosure at the beginning I probably wouldn't have given it a 5 star. It's a solid 4 star book for sure. The honesty about it being his first book and to move on to others of his if this was your first read by him I appreciated. I personally found it unnecessary. I would've read more by him regardless. I'm not a super harsh critic though. I recommend it to those who aren't going to over analyze it like a super important piece of history. It's simply a good listen.

edge of your seat

I loved this book. I listened and could not shut it off. A real page turner if I was reading a book. I feel this is one of his best books.

Wow!

I'm a huge HC fan, and I've read all of his books that do NOT include the Myron character. I wish he would stop writing about Myron, but maybe I should give at least 1 Myron book a chance. Anyways, this book had me hanging at the edge of my seat. Very engaging with plenty of twists. Its my 2nd favorite of all books he's written, and the narrator has a brilliant ability to change characters. A must-listen!
