Enjoyed the narration and the story. Worth it.

Another good listen. I love how much more Jessica gets to help her mother, Sabrina Carlson, and her father, Detective David Carlson. The backstory of this family as it grows keeps the story interesting. I was not as on top of this mystery so I was a little surprised with the reveal. Sometimes I get them, and sometimes I don't. They are worth the read or the listen, depending on your tastes. Kudos again to Stephanie Quinn for keeping this family alive and the stories moving along.

A mystery for Halloween.

This is one you need to pick up and read for Halloween it is so good. David had a bad feeling and it looks like he was right. Finding a body in a cemetery is not such a good place. Who did it? Jessica may have a clue for Sabrina and David. I super enjoyed this book and Stephanie Quinn made it come alive. Pick up either the ebook or the audiobook. I have both and it is such fun reading a listening at the same time. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

Murder and Delicious Halloween Candy

This poor town isn’t going to have many people left if these murders keep happening. That said, I love watching these two as well as their daughter work to solve these murders and the foods that the stress causes them to eat always sounds so good. This is another great addition to this series.

Light cozy mystery on Halloween

It's Halloween, and Sabrina Carlson and her police detective husband, David, are at home. Sabrina is giving out candy to neighborhood kids, and David is stressing out about what mischief or disasters will happen this Halloween. Their daughter, Jessica, now a police officer on the Treasure Cove police force herself, is off duty and attending a big Halloween party.

Only Jessica encounters anything interesting that evening. There's a nasty argument between Fiona and her boyfriend, Trevor, and Fiona storms out, telling Trevor not to follow her. Trevor leaves shortly thereafter.

When David gets to the police station the next morning, he learns that Fiona has been found dead, in the town cemetery, killed with a blunt object, at the grave of a former girlfriend of Trevor's. Trevor had dumped that former girlfriend, and taken up with Fiona. The former girlfriend had killed herself shortly thereafter.

David and Sabrina are soon completely involved in the pursuit of the unknown killer. Why Sabrina, you may ask? Well, Treasure Cove is a pretty small town, David finds her helpful, and for some reason no one objects. Plus, it wouldn't be a cozy if David only worked with other cops and Sabrina didn't get involved.

They have several suspects, most importantly Trevor, seen arguing with her right before her death. The other suspect's include the brother and sister of Trevor's former girlfriend, who committed suicide, something for which they blamed Fiona and Trevor. There's also Fiona's former boyfriend, who wasn't happy about being dumped, either.

There are some odd things about this series, not least the fact that on the one hand, David seems unaware that yes, in fact, suspects can refuse to answer his questions (though he could up the pressure by bringing them into police headquarters), and on the other hand, the assorted suspects seem genuinely surprised and a little outraged that David doesn't accept their unverifiable statements that they were at home alone or elsewhere without a corroborating witness as perfect alibis.

Yet all our regulars are likable, fun characters, and this story, like others in the series, is an enjoyable, light listen. Recommended.

Nice cozy!

cozy-mystery, short, murder-investigation, law-enforcement

The body was found the morning after Halloween in the local cemetery in front of the marker of a young woman who suicided just a year before. To top it off, the victim had been seen the night before having a row with the recently ex boyfriend at a costume party. Lots of work for the local police detective and his consultant wife in the small town of Treasure Cove. Another good read from Meredith Potts!
Stephanie Quinn continues to be perky as the narrator.

Clean Cozy Mystery

This is a clean cozy mystery with an interesting storyline in Treasure Cove with believable and likable characters. You have a body found in the local cemetery the day after Halloween in front of the headstone of a girl who died from suicide the year before. The narration is good and maintains your interest. Sabrina Carlson and her husband David track down the leads and interviews suspects. Stephanie Quinn does a good job with the narration as she maintains your interest. i enjoyed this book.

A short Halloween cozy

When all Hollows Eve comes around so does a little mystery. Our favorite duo is back to investigate another murder, and tensions are high. Finding the murderer is the only thing Sabrina can think about, and she won’t rest until she finds the killer. This is a short cozy but it has all the aspects of a good mystery.. lots of suspects, red herrings, and of course some laughs!
