About this listen

Murder's a beach!

A family holiday turns deadly at Brighton Beach.

When Ginger and Basil and their family check into the Brighton Beach Boutique Hotel on a lovely warm day in June of 1926, a shocking discovery upsets their plans to relax in the sun and surf. There’s a murderer amongst the holidayers: Is it the starlet? The earl? The disgruntled businessman?

In this Agatha Christie-style addition to the Ginger Gold Mystery series, not only will Ginger not finish her book, she and Basil might not get out of the hotel alive.

It seems hard for the family to enjoy a holiday at the beach when a murdered body is found. What are Ginger and Basil to do? Solve it of course!

Another great story!!

Great

I like Elizabeth Klett’s narration very much and I have been very fond of Ginger, Basil, Scout and Bos. The other two family members—not so much. But in this book I found Ginger to be very annoying, too. She was very tactless at times. Not like her at all. The story didn’t really conclude according to what I have always considered the rules of mystery writing, that is to answer all the questions. But I still anxiously await the next book which I am guessing features Coco.

A little disappointing

English accent narration took a few chapters to get used to. A bit too much setting description at the beginning.

surprise ending
