About this listen

A party at the city’s hottest venue turns deadly when an aristocrat is murdered.

London 1924. A birthday celebration at Gennaro’s, London’s swankiest jazz club, is just the ticket for Kitty Worthington. What could be more fun than dancing the Charleston with her fiancé, Chief Inspector Robert Crawford Sinclair?

But as the singer’s mesmerizing voice commands everyone’s attention, an argument erupts between the songbird’s brother and a marquis. Before long, the aristocrat is dead, and the brother’s been arrested. Wrongfully, his sister claims as she begs Kitty to investigate. Although initially reluctant, Kitty takes on the case. The rush to condemn doesn’t sit right with her.

As Kitty navigates the seedy underbelly of the London jazz scene, she uncovers a web of secrets that leads all the way to the palace. But government forces, afraid of what may be revealed, soon put restraints on her. If she doesn't accept their proposal, she will suffer consequences.

With the threat of her detective agency being shut down hanging over her head, she accepts the devil's bargain. And the familiar keeper who'll monitor her every move. But then someone is assaulted, and the investigation takes a perilous turn. Desperate to discover the truth before another person is hurt, Kitty recklessly puts herself in danger. Can she catch the murderer before she herself ends up dead?

Full of period detail, sparkling wit, and heart-pounding suspense, Murder at the Jazz Club, Book 7 in The Kitty Worthington Mysteries, will transport you back in time to the glamorous and dangerous world of the 1920s London jazz scene.

Mystery Maven

Really enjoy this author. Good series, top notch character development, good puzzle, good ending to the end. Continued the outstanding narration and nice touch with the music/singing. Although could read independently, love a good series. Highly recommend; now the wait.

Love the Kitty Worthington series!

I thoroughly enjoy these books. The variety of characters, story development and surprises, and especially the narration! Kim Bretton does a fantastic job in every voice. I look forward to each next installment, yet don’t want to get to the end. 👍🏻👍🏻

Mistakes are off putting

Aside from the reader’s atrocious Southern accent, the constant switch between pronouncing the club/club owner’s name Gennaro and Gerrano is so off putting. Where are the editors?
