About this listen

From the moment I scent her, I have to have her underneath me.

The human female spins and runs straight into my chest.
“Oh!” she says but then she stops, frozen as she stares up at me. “Hi.”
I, too, am stopped in place.
This female is nothing like the others I have seen. She is petite, with long flowing black hair. Her features are as foreign to me as any humans, but for some reason I find her face pleasing.
Before I can think better of it, my tongue sneaks out over my lips to scent my surroundings.
But all I can smell is her.
And I’ve never scented anything so delicious in my life.
Mine.
It’s all but a convulsion that tears through my body.
What? No! No, this cannot be happening!
My denials are weak, though.
Far louder is the cry: Mine, mine, mine, mine, MINE, MINE.

Just a little juvenile for me. Sometimes I tire of what I consider female drivel. The story line still worked. The body visual not my thing.

It was okay

I promise you, wherever you think it's going, you are going to be wrong. The end result is 100% worth it. I have two complaints that I'll address at the end. I got this book because I like the author and she did not disappoint me. The readers NAILED IT!

This story has good characters with solid motivations and I never caught myself rolling my eyes all the way into the back of head thinking "why is he/ she doing that?" The whole thing was just plain enjoyable, even when the male protagonist was doing sketchy things (no spoilers, but dang... he's savage about the competition). My favorite thing has to be the stark cultural differences between humans and Draci. It gives so many opportunities for cultural misunderstandings. Just because someone speaks the language, does not mean they will understand the culture and the way that stands out here is close to brilliant and makes the connection between the characters more believable.

This is the first PNR I have read that actually suggests humans might not have pristine DNA for breeding. We have things in our code that really do not belong and it's a nice topic I wish had been explored further. I love that they picked whoever was expendable for the experiment. I love how not all the aliens agree on what should be done and they debate about it. That is 1000% on point.

My complaints. Why didn't I hear more about the Draci? This story is way too short and it makes things feel rushed. The moment things start to swing into action, they rocket through to the end and I was wishing for another day of courtship. Also, um, murder. They need to ditch that poor guy's cell phone...I mean, what? The plot with the King made me EXTREMELY interested in First. I want to know everything about him. I can't wait for his story.

That along with the fact that there are only two books for me to devour and I have already done so makes me sad. I loved every minute of this (and the next) book. Please write more!

Shak and Juliet's story is light and fun in this over the top alien romance! Shak, a Draci participating in an experiment to breed with humans in hope of saving his dying race, is an adorable combination of strength and innocence. The narrators do a great job representing Shak and Juliet.

Hilarious scifi romance with HEA. Kudos to the audiobook narrators, especially Jake Bordeaux, for a fantastic job.

This books was fun but a little rushed so the last 2 hours of it seem over the top, but I really enjoyed it overall. Really great body exploration which I think is lacking in books like this so it was really nice to have included.

Loved Jake Bordeaux's voice, Bridget Bordeaux's narration was a bit stiff at times and I wish that she would've kept with a different voice for the Epilogue.

I'm definitely getting the next book. Just great hot steamy fun!

Fun alien romp

I really loved the storyline. It took me a minute to get use to the narrator’s style, but I guess I was able to get through it because I’m ready for book 2.

Great story
