About this listen

"This book is amazing! I was hooked until the end." (Jade West, USA Today Best-selling Author)

"An expertly woven tale of romance, tragedy, suspense, and humor." (Jude McLean, Author)

Every sin comes with a price.

I ran away when I was a kid.
Before my family could break me.
Back when I thought I could still be saved.

Now I lie to everyone about who I am.
I lie to myself about the things I’ve done.
My new identity protects me.
But my secrets demand a lonely life.
No man is worth the risk.

Until Chase Hale....

He makes me forget that I'm unwanted.
He makes me forget what I deserve.
He makes me vulnerable.
He makes me weak.

And that’s what makes him Dangerous.

But when he starts making me believe I might be worth saving, that could be the most Dangerous of all.

Because every sin comes with a price, and when my family comes to collect, there will be nothing in this world left to save me.

This book contains dark themes and language.

Loved it, even for the second time! I had read this book before and obviously liked it so much that I purchased the audio book as well. There are so many plots & twists till the end (no spoilers here) that it kept me engrossed the entire weekend. I couldn't stop listening even though it's not my first experience with the book.

It started with the background of the main characters, and then the plot thickens. There are no holes in the story where you're left dissatisfied with questions like how & why. They are ultimately explained.

The narration is awesome. I wonder how the narrator remembered the voices for each of the characters, but she did! There are even slight differences in her tone when it's Jasmine's speaking vs. thinking in her head. I appreciate little details like that.

I listened at 1.25x, which was the perfect speed for me. It's a wonderfully written book, and you can't tell this is the author's debut book. I'll be looking out for her next books!

Riveting!

I previously read this in ebook format, and decided to buy it on here to listen to is as well.

-Original review for the ebook posted on GoodReads:

The story is told from the POV of the lead character. We read her inner monologue constantly, but without actually revealing too much too soon. The author does an exemplary job at describing her thoughts and emotions (both good and bad) in a way that they are felt through the pages. There is sex, graphic and descriptive sex. But no BDSM or anything kinky to turn away the more vanilla reader. Without giving away any spoilers, the lead character is not the only one hiding things and a lot of the characters turn out to be completely different then what you originally think.

Are some of the plot points predictable? Absolutely! It is a guaranteed HEA story afterall, so you should be anticipating the third act break up. But it has enough actual twists to keep you interested and to keep this story away from being considered mundane smut.

Definitely worth reading. This debut novel was a lot better than I expected going in, and I will be keeping an eye out for more books by the author.

-Updates about the audiobook:

The narrator does an amazing job with the voices. It's well paced and has a good level of emotion. And the male voice is not raspy, which is one of my issues when some female narrators read male voices.

So good I bought the audiobook
