Three young women make a pact in high school—
to always be friends and to one day make it big in Manhattan.

My Royal Showmance

Anika Fox knows exactly where she wants to be, and it’s not on the set of a reality TV dating show. She’s working her way up at the production company she works for and she’s close to achieving some of her dreams. The big boss just wants one thing from her. He’s got a potential problem with the director of The King Takes a Bride and he wants Anika to pose as a production assistant and report back.

As the king of a tiny European country, Luca St. Marten knows the world views him as one of the pampered royalty of the world. It couldn’t be further from the truth. His country is hurting and he’s right there on the front lines with his citizens. When he’s asked to do a dating show, his counselors point out that it could bring tourism back to Ralavia. It goes against his every desire, but he agrees.

When one of the contestants drops out at the last minute, Anika finds herself replacing the potential princess. She’s sure she’ll be asked to leave the first night, but Luca keeps picking her again and again. Suddenly she finds herself in the middle of a made-for-TV fantasy, and she’s unsure what’s real and what’s simply reality TV.

Critic reviews

“Narrator Kitty Bang draws the listener into the romance between television production assistant Anika Fox and Luca St. Marten, the king of a small European country.… Bang gives Luca a hint of a British accent, adding to his appeal. Anika is down-to-earth, and Bang aptly conveys this. She also masterfully voices the various contestants, giving one a naïvely hopeful tone and another a bitchy one. Bang's performance reveals all the emotions of the situation.” AudioFile Magazine

A must listen/read

It was surprising and far more complex story than I thought. The characters were strong and interesting.

4.5 Undercover Stars

Anika is asked by her boss and mentor to take a lower-paying position than the one she currently holds and go undercover on a film set to see if the Director is inappropriate with cast or crew members. She was only supposed to be a PA but a twist of events made her a contestant on "The King Takes a Bride."

Luca St. Marten, King of Ralavia, agrees to go on a dating show similar to The Bachelor to regain tourism for his country. If things go well, the production company has offered to televise the wedding for an even larger payout, which will surely help his country get back on its feet.

When Luca and Anika meet for the first time, their chemistry is so strong that you can feel it oozing through the pages. I love that they spend so much time getting to know one another, asking questions that require real thought. If you have ever wondered what happens off-camera on a Reality Show, this story will give you a little insight into all the craziness.

I received an advanced copy of this book and preordered the audiobook. Kitty Bang did a great job of bringing this story to life. If you listen to audiobooks, I highly recommend getting this one.

This was a fun, STEAMY read that I would recommend to readers who enjoy Contemporary Romances, Royalty Romances, or rom-coms.

Happy Reading!!!

Great found family story here.....

4.25 Stars ⭐️

Anyone who knows me or reads my reviews, knows that I am a huge fan of Lexi Blake. Full stop. There aren't even qualifiers to add to that statement. So, I'm always THRILLED when I realize that there is a new book out from her. This book is the second in a new series about a trio of women friends and we are now on the 2nd woman's story - Annika Fox's story.

I have to admit, the synopsis was a little out there. I mean, really? A Bachelor-type scenario, but substitute the handsome arrogant Bachelor candidate for the King of a small European country? Guess what? I'm totally in for that? Crazy, right? Iknow, I know....remember, huge fan......

Well, I just have faith in Ms. Blake. She never lets me down and luckily, I was not disappointed. Was this the best book in her repertoire? No, not really. But it was fun and easy to read (or listen to) and it sped by. When I heard the "Thank you for listening to Audible" or whatever they say, I was truly shocked that we had come to the end. So, that is one of the best compliments I can give a book.

Yes, this book was a fun easy read, but I think my favorite part of it was the friendship that we have watched develop with the three women. Ride or die friends that each of us would love to have, or maybe we do have, and it makes it that much better to read about. They are the ones who don't even ask and just say, "I'll bring the shovel..." IYKYK :)

So, another winner for Ms. Blake. Now, the wait begins for the last story with the last remaining friend. Wonder what she is going to have in store for her?

Fun, fun, fun.....

So many spewing laughter moments!

I love Lexi Blake. She can take plot and lace it with some of the best dialogue! I was so glad I was alone for the majority of my listen so no one caught me cackling for seemingly no reason.

So good ❤️❤️❤️

Great connection with the main character

Wonderful contemporary romance. Relative to modern culture and expertly written by Lexi Blake.

Loved the narration.

A Fun, Quick Read!

This book was super enjoyable quick read! If you are a fan of shows like The Bachelor then you are gonna love this story!

Anika is a PA on a new TV show where the King of a small European country is looking for his queen in order to help save his people. When one of the contestants drops out at the last minute, Anika is “asked” to take her place.

The whole concept of this story was so fun. I loved the behind the scenes and the confessional interviews!

While most of the book is lovely and fun, check the trigger warners. There is one aspect that could be triggering even though the author handled it really well.

Fun Read

Cute story. Enjoyed all the characters, had me laughing out loud. Narrated well, I prefer dual narration where the male character is read by a male Narrator but feel the Narrator did a very good job

Disappointed

I had to check the previous book to see if it was the same narrator. What happened? While the voices were good the timing was off, really off. Pauses were too long, which made the book slow. The book at times was boring and predictable. The story line was ok.
